Update: discovered r/BostonU and posted there
I work near Boston University, and take the B Line home around 5PM. Every day, crowds of BU kids push onto the crowded trains with their backpacks on. Every single college-aged kid keeps their backpack on. Do they not know common train courtesy? Take the backpacks off at rush hour. People (me) get whacked in the chest by the bags and it’s even harder to get in and out of the packed rush hour train when trying to swim through a sea of backpacks.
I’ve tried before to ask people to take their backpacks off as they get on the train, but either people ignore me, stare at me confused, or don’t hear because they have headphones on.
We can make this a more pleasant experience for all of us. Just take the backpacks off.
