Hello, NYC transplant who's been living here the past 4 years. I still haven't found a solid pizza place with simple, good affordable pizza. I went back home for a few days and couldn't help but notice the small mom-and-pop $3 a slice corner pizza place in my NY neighborhood gives me more delicious pizza than anywhere in Boston I've tried. What does Boston have against tomato sauce, a good bread-tomato-cheese ratio, and non-dryness? The bread's always too thick, and/or there's zero tomato sauce, and/or the cheese is too dry and the whole thing tastes like cardboard. I've tried:
Bertucci's, Cambridge Pizzeria, Boston House of Pizza, Supreme Pizza, (I've went to Oath and Blaze but I do not count them as regular pizza). I've tried a few other spots I can't remember but none of them stuck with me. I've tried these places more than once and have still been disappointed.
Send help. If you know a good spot, and especially if you know what I'm talking about regarding NY Pizza and have found similar places, please help. I just want a comfort pizza place near me lol.
