Oh shoot! I didn’t mean to come off that way, was just trying to be concise! But you’re right, I could’ve added more context. I was curious about what activities people have enjoyed, despite the winter, that isn’t necessarily on the average tourist website. Reddit had always helped me find some surprisingly underrated things to do when I travel somewhere new that I would’ve never been able to find through a google search :)

I also saw a guy get off at North Quincy on Thursday around 7 pm who seemed not quite there mentally. He was in my car audibly complaining to someone on the phone about his pedophile friend out in California. I glanced over at him, and he did not have a phone. I assumed he was homeless, but boy was I happy to get off that train.

First, congrats! Don’t worry about packing too much. We delivered at another Boston hospital but here is some general advice.

Bring phone charger(s) and change of clothes for both of you. We stayed 5 nights each delivery…not great and our clothes smelled after but whatever.

Grippy (maternity) socks for wife (tufts provided them)

Flip flops (so you can jump outta bed and get whatever wife needs at whatever hour she needs it if the nurses are busy)

Car seat!!! Hospital won’t let you leave without it (or stroller I assume if not driving but idk)

Chapstick

Get mentally prepared to watch a team of people stick all sorts of things into your wife’s vagina (seriously wtf was that balloon thing).

If you are offered the chance to cut the umbilical cord, do it! Great experience imo.

Lastly, if you feel like you’re gonna faint (I did with our second, which was weird), sit down! Don’t go passing out all over everyone lol.

My policy is to always ignore and not make eye contact with crazy people. I feel like trying to be nice (or initiating any interaction) has the potential to lead to trouble. I am not trying to blame OP for what happened. I think it's commendable to help someone in need, I just think crazy people need a specialized form of help.

Twenty years ago spare change guy tried to grope me on a crowded train “oooh I want to touch”. And before I could even do anything a nice man stood in front of me and told him to back off. I was so wrecked I didn’t even say thank you to him. But thank you kind stranger.
