If they like the city some much why don't they just build their own. They can come here but I can't go into the Lego store at Assembly Row because I do not have a child?! Typical Big Building Block behavior. It's always about Wall Street, never Main Street

One of the side effects that I haven't seen many people mention is what this statue is getting viewers to do.

When I visited it, I watched a lot of people approach it from afar with a confused look, since it looks weird from some angles. Once they got closer and it started to make sense, they seemed to enjoy it more. It was literally bringing strangers together in a co-located spot by being a confusing object. Kind of like the shiny Chicago bean.

I also noticed families and friends trying to hug each other in the same way the statue was. Don't know if that was intended, but if a statue gets people to hug more then it's good in my book.

If you didn’t agree to pay the fee (which may be agreed to by using broker services after getting the appropriate notice), then you are in good position to push back. You could tell the lawyer you’re from out of state, never heard of the fee, certainly never agreed to it, and don’t want to pay it. Next move would be theirs.

I get that this sub is mostly just unhappy people complaining but another way of looking at it is that Boston is so great that people are willing to pay a heavy premium to live here.

EDIT: To be clear, I don't mean that you should be happy about things costing more just that it means the opposite of what you seem to think it means. People pay more to live in a desirable place.
