I was at malden around the same time it sounds like. Took forever to get the train. Then they were going super slow because of “track work”. Then they stopped right before Wellington because someone “fell in the pit”. But we were only held up for a couple of minutes because of that.

I mean, as your other comment points out, it is still very much an "active" US military vessel.

LEGO often catches flak for the increased presence of weapons in their sets (like the entire Star Wars line) and many argue that is at odds with their ethos of not producing sets that promote violence. I agree that it is sometimes hypocritical. Their defense is the "weapon-like" elements are in fantasy settings and not real-life scenarios that promote violence. Which a military ship (even as a glorified museum) would be counter to.

This is all besides the initial point that the USS Constitution isn't anything like the Space Shuttle in terms of military use. One carried military cargo at times while the other actually engaged in battles.

It's not like National Grid or Eversource or whoever is pumping it out of the ground here & charging whatever they want. They pay their suppliers for it & those increased costs get passed down to us.

I happened to be visiting MN last summer on the day that Excel published their electricity rate increases for this winter in the Star-Tribune in the tiniest font possible, they're getting a big rate increase there too.

The good news is that the two easiest things you can do - turning down the heat & wearing more layers - cost you absolutely nothing. The OK news is that ditching gas & the grid with battery+solar is a little easier & cheaper than it used to be, but it'll take a bit before it pays for itself. The best news of all is that you don't live in Texas.

That’s my thought, and I think that’s their plan. Lose long standing employees, pay some college grads pennies to live with 5 roommates.

Their location is barely in CT even, it’s more Springfield area then Hartford (if you can split the two), and I think this matters because Hartford is the higher paying market with the nicer suburbs (Federal GS adjustment is the same as Boston). So Lego’s people in Enfield are probably getting paid even less being closer to Springfield.

Fiance had it done at TLC recently and while he would recommend the procedure in general, TLC didn't do a great job on the aftercare. They scratched his cornea during the procedure and installed a bandage to let it heal (with verbal instructions that it could probably come out in about a week), but didn't schedule any kind of followup to have it removed. It took 2 weeks, multiple calls, and a threat to go to the Board of Opthalmology before they would schedule a follow-up appointment and remove the bandage. His eyesight is great now though, just wouldn't recommend TLC.
