What’s interesting is that Amtrak was able to electrify 322 miles of the NEC between Boston and New Haven within only 5 years… this was in the 90s

Wow, that's too bad. This is important info missing. Did you make a switch or call places?
In 2022, my overall gas payments were 40% supply and 60% delivery. We may save a lot of money by switching to a cheaper supplier, but because 3rd party supplier pricing is not available, I have no idea how much.
Specifically, I paid an average of $0.92/therm for supply and $1.36/therm for delivery.

Battery trains was the baker veto. Legislature called for no new diesel purchases by 2030 per that article.

Battery trains were only conceptually proposed last summer due to a mandate within a environmental bill to recommend electrification alternatives- no contracts were ever finalized for hybrid service delivery. As it stands, there really is no current plan to electrify the commuter rail

Keep in mind battery trains were only conceptually proposed last summer and no contracts were finalized. The actual bill recommends full system electrification instead of hybrid electrification

Same for Eversource. I found the list by clicking around on their website. Unfortunately looks like you have to call/email every single one to figure out prices and pick one.

Its definitely a nonsense smokescreen. BPD’s job is not to kill people as you stated. An astronomically low percentage of the time it happens and an astronomically high amount of time it is justified. The police also do have oversight. How’s this you even elect the people who oversee them. But again getting back to the core of the question…if some other folks at your company are illegally dumping somewhere and the EPA fines your company a million dollars . You’d be ok with paying the fines out of your pension/401K correct?

Same, it seems even worse going south. I’ve missed my bus so many times because the train is so fucking slow.

Mass save routinely runs 10-20 dollar deals on smart thermostats.
Also moved two apartments with my nest. Just remember to take photos before and after installation of where the wiring goes

Not to mention if you use the PayByPhone app as a guest, you can still get ticketed and the app as well as the MBTA apparently don't have or keep records/receipts of guest pass purchases and PayByPhone doesn't text or e-mail you a receipt. Ask me how I know!

In what universe is $50-60 for a 40 minute cleaning a decent price. The salary of the hygienist, plus rent, equipment and consumables, the cost of a dentist to supervise, liability insurance…suggest you go to a dental school

Just recently moved here: how are the fares handled if you take the suggested detour of free shuttle, hop on the green line and then shuttle over to get back on the orange line after closure? Do you have to pay a fare each of the times you get on the train?

I spent 2018-2020 working on Albany and Mass Ave. Used to get to Kendall at 5:40-45 AM. Then SHTF and that slowly kept creeping up. Thankfully, I haven't had to work in Cambridge since 2020 but unfortunately now I am once again working in the PRC. Routinely show up at Kendall at or minutes past 6 AM. It depends on how long the doors stay open at each stop to let the freezing cold air in and then those nice mid-tunnel dead stops so the train can remember where it's supposed to go.

Except the Needham line, which is one of the densest and most traveled but can't be electrified.
