It is, but Hanscom is not remotely equipped to be any sort of replacement for Logan in so many ways. No train access, no highway access, only two runways, and both are too short for anything bigger than a 757 (maybe a lightly loaded 767), no real terminals, etc. Trying to make the necessary changes to use it to replace Logan would need to be more extensive and expensive than it would be to just make the various upgrades at Logan.

I think you nailed it here. But the most interesting plot twist is what a political disaster GOP chairman Lyons and his MAGA policy has been. In addition to the campaign debt and allegations of campaign finance violations, all of his candidates were absolutely decimated in the election. The national media always talks about the DeSantis “landslide,” but he only won by only 20 points and Healey won by 30. So Lyons short tenure likely has set the GOP in MA back a decade or more in a state in which moderate business friendly Republicans can usually win. I will be surprised if he is chairman after the January 31st election.

You can always fly out of Manchester airport or TF Green, if you are on North Shore or South Shore it may make sense (and could even be cheaper).

But I live in Charlestown and without traffic the airport is 7 minutes away. With traffic, I think the worst has been 20 minutes. Heck I can even take a water taxi to the airport.

Your post appears to be one of a number of commonly asked questions about the port city of Boston. Anyway, Royale is fine if you're just trying to get drunk and dance and hookup. The Grand is more of the same as Royale but more expensive and a stricter dress code. Bijou is fine if you're into house music, the last few times I've been to Bijou the crowd was mostly freshly 21 people. Legacy is under Royale and a pretty great queer club if that's you're thing. Good Life, Phoenix Landing, Middlesex, and The Lower Level are all great for underground shows if that's your thing. The vibes at those 4 places are all pretty good. Good Life is my favorite and they open back up this weekend. If you're just looking to get trashed and don't care what you dance to or who you dance around, any of the bars around Haymarket/Faneuil Hall will do. Ned Devine's, Hennessey's, Hong Kong ($1 chicken sticks!), Sissy K's, Coogan's. I think there's a few more I'm missing but those are the big ones. Also, I can't believe I forgot this, but if you're into top 40 or hip hop, Venu, Cure, Icon, and Hava are places to go if you're looking for something a little nicer/fancier/more upscale than what the Faneuil Hall/Haymarket bars and clubs offer. I also forgot about Memoire because it's in the casino but frankly I don't really know anyone who goes to Memoire regularly. It's more of the same stuff they play at the Grand and Royale. Now I think I've named them all. Also, please check the sidebar for visitor information.

Honestly, it’s my favorite restaurant anywhere in the world. Maybe not the best restaurant, but their signature dish is a deeply emotional experience, incredibly rich and complex, and I’ve never had anything quite like it. It’s definitely a Last Meal kind of place.

On the flip side, moving the airport to Framingham would make the trek from where I'm at much worse, and most (but not all) of the people who live without cars in the city would have a much longer commute. I honesty don't think it would have much of an impact on the median commute time to the airport. For every person in Rozzie or Newton that might have a better trip, there's another in Saugus or Everett that would have to travel further.

I agree with you about the development cost of Logan's proximity to downtown though. The building height cap is unfortunate.
