Don’t go to Mamalehs. They recently started charging like a 10% additional fee on receipts for “living wage.” Instead of just appropriately, pricing their menu items so that they can pay their employees fairly, they fraudulently keep their prices low up on the menu board, and then tack on the surprise fee on your receipt when you get to the register.

Gay sports are huge in Boston, everything from billiards to kickball to bowling. Just another thing to maybe check out.

I haven’t been there, but my Mexican husband raves about this being the only worthwhile Mexican restaurant in the Greater Boston area.
Also on the Top 100 taco list, #5 is Los Tacos No. 1. if you’re ever in NYC do yourself a favor and go there, as Mexicans we deem that place to be worthy of doing the trip just to eat some.

Jim's Deli does a regular or buffalo chicken mac and cheese. Goes great as a side with their meatloaf dinner. You'll sleep like a baby

Reply to Report: NWSL set to expand with three new teams in Boston, Utah, San Francisco Bay Area by MrAwes0m3
If North Carolina and Portland can have a successful NWSL franchise, Boston/New England should at least have a shot. The league, as well as US soccer fandom, is in a different place now than when Breakers left. Still not easy, though.

you won't be getting paid enough to live alone - keep this in mind. If you're ok living with roomates for your residency, tufts and boston in general is a good place to be for it. If you need/or feel you are entitled to live alone, you're going to be using up your savings or someone is going to have to help you with living expenses.

Ive been a bartender in LGBTQ establishments for 30+ years in Boston and other places. I will catch shit for this but it needs to be said. The reason for the complete lack of Lesbian spaces is because Lesbians ruin them.
Lesbians in general do not drink like men. They may order one drink and sip on it for the evening. They are also shitty tippers. They might tip a quarter on a drink if you're lucky. How is a bar or bar staff supposed to stay alive under those terms?
Lesbians also fight way more than gay men so there is the hassle of dealing with the police, the licensing board and insurance. Ever wonder why club cafe uses plastic cups........?
Back in the day there used to be more pickup trucks in Randolph Country Club than a Ford dealership. At the end of the night the "ladies" would be beating the crap out of each other before making up and moving in with each other the next day.
I haven't worked in a place that caters to women in many many years. Its not just a Boston thing. Its a nationwide thing.

This. All of these areas are fine (ignore the bonkers comment about homicides). In my mind, the most important thing is to Google Map the walking/train time to the areas you want to visit. I’m biased to Somerville, but a lot also depends on what kind of neighborhood you are looking for.
