Hello! So basically I really want to buy a switch, but is it worth it? I have a pretty good PC, but I’m a big fan switch exclusive games. I’m afraid that I might get bored of it in a couple of weeks…

Hello! So basically I really want to buy a switch, but is it worth it? I have a pretty good PC, but I’m a big fan switch exclusive games. I’m afraid that I might get bored of it in a couple of weeks…
Rule of thumb, is it on PC? - get a VALVE Steam Deck. Is it exclusive to Switch? - Get a Switch.
Be wary of stick drift. I have 6 sets of Joycons that ALL have drift. The Switch is now stuffed in storage because of this and no longer gets used. I have a hackable launch model and not even the lure of free games etc can overcome the shitty build quality of the controllers.
Worst. Nintendo. Console. Ever.
I've had the switch for 3 years and never had stick drift.
Lucky boy. Its a well known flaw with Joycons.
I’ve also never had this experience and I’ve had mine for quite awhile as well it’s much loved actually
As i said to the other guy, you're lucky then. Its well documented that its an actual issue with the Joycons, I believe there was even a class action lawsuit about it. Nintendo even admitted it and offered to fix them free of charge, in the US.
Weird never heard of that
Google it, its all there
The switch exclusives hold up best. If your gonna buy one its a decently old console so get it used
If you love all the Nintendo games it's worth it, as you won't get them anywhere else.
Buy an Xbox. You'll love it! Although the Switch is nice, an Xbox is way better! :) ur choice though
The Xbox is possibly the worst console choice - all games are on PC so zero exclusives, and it’s a console…

I would say no from personal experience. Games are way too expensive for a for inferior experience. OK for the odd Nintendo exclusive title but doesn't balance out.
I would get yourself a mobile controller like the GameSir X2 and sign up for Game Pass to use their cloud gaming service. Granted you need WiFi to stream but it's still a huge saving on a Switch.
Absolutely not worth it.
If you have to wonder then it's probably not
Definitely not worth it. Great console, some great games, but mine has been sitting unused for years. Probably won’t see daylight until the next zelda game comes out. Unless you’ve got money to burn i wouldn’t bother
No, a new console will likely come out soon

Switch isn’t known for it’s specs and graphics, it’s known for the gameplay. If you’re fan of nin exclusives , you should not afraid of getting bored and honestly just get it right away, hell you can even play with your family if you want. I personally don’t find the games much interesting, mario, zelda, bayonetta, samus, the gameplay doesn’t move me by an inch, cartoony isn’t my type, so when I got the chance to buy myself a console, I went with the playstation and bloodborne.
Great console it’s just the games are extremely overpriced. Better off going with something like a steam deck where the games are cheaper.
Probably not at this point, wait for the next gen
Only use mine for gatherings for a game of monopoly or mario party, other than that it’s basically a dust catcher
Honestly I love my switch, but I don't think I would buy it again. I'd get a ps5 instead. That being said the portability is amazing, I take holidays in a small van and it always goes with me.
The exclusive games are great but they are very expensive, never go on sale, and are unlikely to ever go down in price. All other games will be cheaper on another console.
The joy con drift is a very common problem and the controllers are expensive to buy and fix. Depending on where you live you can apparently get Nintendo to fix them for free but not where I am (UK)
My ps4 handles every game better, the switch doesn't cope well with big games. Dragon quest builders 2 is really laggy once you get some big structures up for instance.
Holy shit this machine is loud. It sounds like there is an aircraft carrier in the room, and genuinely gives me headaches.
Definitely worth it! My whole family plays the one we have and have never had any problems with it other then me forgetting my password for my Nintendo account which isn’t really even a problem at all
I bought a switch for the exclusives but found myself not playing it after I had completed the games I wanted to play (which was about a few months). I do play it occasionally to play group games or when I'm travelling but otherwise I don't anymore.
Id advise you to buy one second hand to avoid the bug price tag
Both my boyfriend and I wanted Switches so bad. We both got bored of them real quick
I brought it and it's lying unused, the games are not worth the price they ask. Also, switch games hardly ever go down in price.
I have bought most of my games through local online ads and have paid about 30 bucks a game or less
What games did you play???
Botw
Imagine picking up botw and going "this is so shit how can anyone play this" 💀 you either didn't make it off the plateau or you have stupidly specific taste in games
Read my comment properly, i didn't say it was shit
You said it wasn't worth the price, a triple A openworld game in a popular series isn't worth 50 quid plus it's the only game you played on the switch before giving it up.
Didn't say it was shit
Not outright, but still, one game and you discard the whole system?
No
Yes its worthnit but quite pricey....
Based on your problem it is really depends on you

It's pretty fun. Mario maker is endless fun. Plus, enough Zelda games to play till the cows come home
