What is the value you’re looking at here? What’s the “worth” you’re trying to gauge?

You already own the console and games, so there’s no cost to factor in unless it’s the online/GamePass sub.

If it’s time investment, ask yourself this: do you find when you’re playing these games, you’re 100% invested, full attention and having fun? Or are you thinking of other things to do or once you’re finished, do you somewhat regret spending that free time playing those games?

Are there other types of games you enjoy that you haven’t played before that may be available on those systems? Ie. Sports, simulation, strategy, rpg, puzzle, etc.

Being a PlayStation person I would obviously say ps5 but I see both ways here, I made the change from Xbox to PlayStation a couple years back and I find the ui much easier to navigate on ps. if you're looking for a good looking console both of them are strong contenders, but I would say Xbox would win by a landslide if in the holes around the top were actual leds and not just rings but it would be a tie there. Being set back to square one gamewise is hard and if I was trying to sway you into PlayStation I would say oh ps plus has a bunch of games but to be honest there isn't that much on it but I think there is most of the assassins creed if I can recall. You have some exclusive things in some games if you play on Xbox I think (I am not completely sure though) Good Luck choosing the right one!

Depends on hours

Like if a game will only have 20 hours play and I'm done, not worth it. I wouldn't even buy it new. I would wait until it's for resale.

If i think i can play a game or console for at least 6 months it's probably worth it

And if it's an old hackable system, then i will just buy a flash cart or do a ode mod or something and get the games for free

Basically God Of War is by itself more popular than all of those together and honestly, as a popular opinion, it's also better in quality than all of those games.

Taking in consideration basically all PlayStation exclusives (which you're being extremely unfair about, since you have games like Ghost Of Tsushima, Infamous, Killzone, Gran Turismo, Bloodborne, Demon Souls, etc... which all scape from that formula (that doesn't even exist) you're talking about) combined with all the Final Fantasy games and basically most of Ubisoft titles, Mafia games, Saints Row, Shadow Warrior and overall lots of the games you mentioned too, like Hollow Knight, Outer Wilds, some Yakuza and Tom Clancy's games, I find PS+ way better. Even better when you get the version that has the PS1/2/3 streaming with all those classic games while XBox Gamepass has only a few retro games to play. There is more quantity and quality at the same time on PS5's service.

You're also talking like the most played and enjoyed games aren't the third person shooters/action RPG.

And it's really dumb to use games that Gamepass once HAD to compare to the games PS+ HAS right NOW.

If you can't seem to get bored with what's there, I can assure you you'd have even a harder time getting bored on the PS+ subscription. Literally the only point where Gamepass wins is the price.

Btw, wtf are you talking about? How is Spiderman any similar to those other games? Also, it's obvious that Uncharted and TLOU are similar. They're from the same developers. And Horizon Zero Dawn has literally nothing to do with those games, the only similarities are the third person camera and the fact that you shoot something. Following your logic, 70% of the games are copies from those games. That's just wrong. You clearly haven't played any of the Must Play PS Exclusives.

More popular than Minecraft, Undertale, Unpacking, Scorn, Chivalry II, Persona 5, the Yakuza series, every Halo game, Tunic, the Tom Clancy games, The Walking Dead games, The Outer Worlds, Skyrim, Oblivion, Marrowind, Terraria, Tetris Effect, TMNT Shredder's Revenge, Stardew Valley, all the modern Star Wars games, the Skate series, the Forza & Forza Horizon series, all the stuff on Rare Replay, the Doom games, the Quake games, Psychonauts, Powerwash Simulator, Payday 2, Outer Wilds, Octopath Traveler, No Man's Sky, the Ninja Gaiden series, the modern NFS games, pretty much every sports game that matters, the Mass Effect series, Hollow Knight, Hitman, Gears, DBFighterZ, Disney Dreamlight Valley, Crysis series, the Battlefield series, Astroneer, Ark, and Among Us... combined?

Maybe. Playstation has a much larger install base thanks to PS4.

But this high quality variety? PS+ doesn't even come close. For a while, Monster Hunter World, all the big FF games, and the KH series were an GamePass. I can't see sameone getting bored with what's there, and what's to come.

The six to ten "must have Playstation exclusives" are pretty much all just gritty, brooding, third-person action adventure games.

Swap out Aloy for Spider-Man for Nathan Drake for whoever-the-TLoU-characters-are, and swap a bow for a web shooter, for an AK-47, for... another AK-47, and yeah. Woo. Poular games are popular. Just because they sell well dosen't mean it's good to drown in it.

Minecraft is pretty dang popular. I don't need forty Minecraft-like games.

Offset is way more comfortable than semetrical plus you can turn the Xbox controler into a left handed one if you take off the shell and put it on the other way once you move the buttons and the joysticks you have a left handed controller
