Defiantly buy whatever one you prefer or whatever your friends use the most but I would choose Xbox because there is a lot more games on that console then PlayStation because at the moment Microsoft is legit buying as many game series as possible.

Thanks for the feedback. After reading these comments I think I will go with the series s because everyone is telling me to. I don’t want to go out of budget though and buy a ps5 because I don’t really enjoy games that much anymore and I’m doing this for my brother so he can get my old ps4

Series X/X is definitely worth it, even if you don't play on as much as the others. It easily has the best subscription with gamepass which includes day one releases and some great backwards compatible games

Series S can be found for sale easily now.

Paired with gamepass and perhaps a 512 gb expansion card, you can't go wrong with it. I got a series x for 4k, but since you already have a 4k capable console, that shouldn't be a problem.

Depends on what games you play, which console is more available in your area (I can't believe this is still an issue), and if you're interested in multiplayer with friends, what consoles the people you want to play with have.

Series s, its much faster, loading times are non existent compared to ps4 pro, and it runs most games on 60 fps. Its definitely not as loud (I cannot hear it ever) and loading times, stuttering etc have never been a problem. I assume you've already played the PS4 exclusives, a ps4 pro is last gen and won't get games from the next year approximately. A series s is next gen and equiped with the same cpu as a series X. There is no point in getting a ps4 pro if you've already played the exclusives

PS4 pro has 6 months to 1 year lifespan left at most in my opinion. If you want to play new games in the long run you can go with series s. You'd cover online with Gamepass also if you play multiplayer often.

Depending on your tv and how much more you can squeeze out of your pocket I'd say consider getting a PS5 though. Stocks are coming back and you'll be able to buy it in retail price. Lately Activision deal sparked a console wars mindset in reddit but I think PlayStation still has the best games of the console world and gives the best experience with dualsense.

No disrespect to Xbox owners though, my roommate has one and I think it's a great machine, just doesn't appeal to me.

I like it. It doesn’t feel fully next gen but it feels half way there. Graphics seem decent but what makes it not feel last gen is the quick load times. Would recommend getting an expansion card, but by the time you do that you might as well get Series X.
