Had both PS5 / Series X and ended up selling Series X for the reasons you said - lack of games. Although two main things would make me get one again in the future.

  1. to be fair things are improving in the game department. Redfall and more importantly Starfield are being released this year. Games that actually look good although they need to keep the momentum going. Didn’t hate Gears 5, gets more stick than it deserved although not amazing either. Big Halo fan but they dropped the ball massively with Infinite. Season 3 maps look a step in the right direction. The campaign was lacking in scope both for the story and gameplay. Although I won’t buy another console until they’ve actually released some games and the reviews are good - not promises of future releases.

  2. I’ve got a PS5 disc. Feel that Series S would be a disappointment on OLED. Series X Digital would be perfect given everything is mostly on game pass. Around the £350 mark and would be a no brainier buy for me.

Sorry, but you’re completely incorrect. These aren’t “cut down” chips - the performance is equivalent to a 3700x and a 6800 when factoring in lower overheads. The 2 cores and 4 threads are crucial - a 5600 might have a better single core speed but as more games are released solely for these new consoles, the missing cores will age poorly. Compare the FPS at the same settings.

The PS5 doesn’t lock the FPS better. It has more performance than your estimates. You are wrong.

Upgrade your PC if you’re unhappy with the performance, or else you’d also have to re buy all your games and pay for online.

But what’s your point? I mean, I have all of the next-gen consoles, and own or owned most of the retroconsoles, and I gotta say that the Xbox controller is much better for general use. The PS4/PS5 touch pad is almost useless, and it’s used mainly for gimmick. It even reminds me a bit of some Nintendo gimmick experiences, but in a bad way. I mean, I love the DualShock/DualSense greatly, but I gotta be honest about the inclusion of its touchpad.

Not trying to argue but you are kinda incorrect and someone may take this misinformation.

Ps5 cpu is a cut down 3700x, yes it has 2 more cores but worst. 5600 is a lot better than the 3700x.(remember. Ps5 version is a cut down version)

Gpu is also a cut down 6800, similar in performance with 5700xt / 2070 super

But idk, i kinda want to switch because somehow the PS5 locks the fps better but i still dont know what to do.

Yup with PS5 you will get the convenience and all round less hassle of a console, excellent big budget aaa exclusives, no hackers ruining games, having the option of buying physical games, backwards compatibility with PS4, bigger split screen/local co-op, better portability, exclusivity deals/content and the big developers along with most Japanese games will tend to prioritise PlayStation over PC.

With the current market now is a great time to sell your PC.

“A bit higher”

Your PC is a 6 core, PS5 is 8 core. GPU on a PS5 is 6800 class. The PS5 is higher spec, however…

Optimisation is irrelevant if you’re running an AMD GPU, even with Hogwarts legacy the game ran fine. A PS5 is identical hardware wise to a PC, optimisation issues vs consoles are usually more relevant to nVidia users.

Most PS5 exclusives are on PC. You have no reason to swap .

If I was you I’d keep the pc. I have a ps5 and in the process of building a gaming pc. Persian oh I can’t wait to get my gaming pc set up and running. There is so much choice for games on pc. Games for consoles are very limited and I’ve been waiting for a top game to release for Ps5 that gets me hooked

Adaptive haptic triggers? USB controller function for PC? Bluetooth support? Li-Po battery support? 3.5mm headset support?

The PS controller got a trackpad no one uses during that time. Are you seriously trying to claim either has gained major, groundbreaking features?

There’s a reason most PC players use an Xbox controller bud.

Yes, and look at the changes between 360 and Series X. Quite a few… if you hold the two it’s very clear they’re different shapes, and that’s before you factor in charging port, texture changes, trigger changes, different D pad etc etc. Battery bulge gone too.

Helps that the PS3 controller was a poor design and the 360 wasn’t - less to change
