I used to work for Shell Energy Broadband and they're an awful company. They use the TalkTalk network which barely works and that's sublet by BT. I'm with BT now and have gigabit connection, not had any issues in 2 years.

Dump their standard router would be my first suggestion. I have an ASUS one instead that gives me full control over my network. Also, Wi-Fi boosters can help in these situations.

Moving the router to the most central point in the house was what made sure I had decent WiFi coverage throughout tho..

If anything I’m overestimating their motivation or ability to put forth any effort. Again, it doesn’t take many brain cells to watch a YouTube video and copy what they do, though I think most people would care less and just play steam games like I said, which is what the deck was technically made for and requires little to no effort to do.

Just saw this thread and had to comment. Steam deck can be as easy as a switch. Sure, if you want to play games outside of steam it takes a little work, nothing a YouTube video can’t enable a monkey to do though. I agree with the other guy, but for a different reason. You really don’t have to be ‘good with tech’ to play a deck, just like you don’t have to be ‘good with cars’ to do standard maintenance. Watch a quick video, easy as 1-2-3.

Or just play the crazy amount of games steam had compatible and require 0 extra work at all.

I personally prefer xbox, i play forza alot so that could be a biased, but i think xbox has better exclusives, i also feel like xbox is much more sleek and easy to use, so i feel like xbox is best for your causal gamer, with the way Microsoft is owning more and more companies, it may be smarter to buy and xbox. I also feel like xbox gameplay is much smoother than PlayStations, but the down side of xbox is the amount of of players, PlayStation is like the apple of the console world, not necessarily the best but the most popular.

Personally i would go for an xbox, but just look at exclusives and prices ect.

I'd use a WiFi booster, I'm sure it'll be a lot quicker to set up. I used one in a thick walled property, and it worked a treat. You just plug it in, connect to router and that's it. Any devices you have connect to it. Good luck either way.
