If its between the S and ps5 then definitely the 5. If it was the series X then 100% the xbox. The Series S isn't really seen as much of an upgrade compared to the Series X or ps5

It all comes down to which games you want to play: if there are exclusives you prefer on PS or Xbox.
Which kind of PS5 do you want to get? If you consider getting the Disc-version, don't forget to add the Series X to your list which can be a good alternative to these two consoles

Both are good, but if
Your friends have Playstation, then
You should buy it too

Go where your friends are in my opinion, plus you'll get a ton of sweet exclusive games that you can try out if you do go down the PS route

Slims are coming in 2023, pro's likely the year after.

I know that the Switch has a game called RingFit that a fair few people that I know enjoy, not sure about anything else on the console and have no idea what's on PlayStation or Xbox (Maybe Just Dance qualifies?)
As for PC, most of what comes to mind is on virtual reality, Beat Sabre is the main one I'm thinking of but there's plenty of fitness apps as well. No idea if PCVR or Quest would be a better idea as far as that's concerned but it's a weird time to buy VR sets because better headsets are around the corner.

If you want to play lots of classic games, you may also want to consider something like a RaspberyPi or an android emulator box.
I can't say much about how a lot of emulators run on these, but many can run up to the PS2 fairly competently as well as some more complicated to emulate consoles like the Saturn (multiplatform games are usually better on PS1 this generation and while it has a lot of really cool exclusives, it's hard to justify paying 400-1000$ for some of the better titles)

That's a bummer. My TBs have been going strong for close to 10 years, although I don't use them too frequently. They're nice to have when my family is asleep or doesn't want to listen to my games.

I found that to be the pitfall of high end TB’s. I had 800X’s and the base stopped working so the whole thing became unusable and TB support was like “oh well spend another $400 and buy a new one.”
Since then I’ve been trying other companies and I’ve settled on Razer for now. Steel Series has some good ones also.

They do, but I want to avoid buying 2 headsets. My old Turtle Beach handles either console specifically because of the combination optical input and wired mic connection. It's too bad that manufacturers aren't doing this anymore and essentially forcing people to get a headset for each console.

The Thresher set I have also does not have a base it’s an Xbox specific headset. Having said that Razer makes multiple versions of basically everything.

Yeah but the PC and VR has multiple other uses. Much more value than overpriced gym equipment.

As far as I know the Kaira doesn't have a base station (no optical input), and is console-specific, so that won't work. Does the base for the Thresher have multiple optical inputs or just the one? Is the voice chat function wireless or does/can it connect to a controller with a cable? Like I mentioned, I want to be able to use one headset with both consoles and it seems that wireless voice chat connectivity differences between them is what limits manufacturers to making one headset for each console. Hence why I'm willing to compromise by using a cable if it means I don't have to buy 2 headsets.

Reply to I think Ragnarok will be the last God of War game I'll play in the series. by Gay_Charlie
You're not alone. I got about 6 hours in before I got distracted with watching the Cyberpunk Edgerunner anime on Netflix. This lead to me getting back into Cyberpunk 2077 on my Series X (bought it originally on there) since I had heard nothing but good things since CDPR patched it.
It ended up pulling me completely away from God of War, and now I'm fully on Cyberpunk for the last couple weeks. Hard for me to put it down even. I may eventually circle back to beat Ragnarok just so I can say I beat it as well as justify the steep price tag, but overall, if I'm being completely honest here....I thought it was boring. Don't get me wrong, I feel the love and passion that Sony Santa Monica put into it, and I don't want to minimize their achievement at all, but at this point I feel like I'd just prefer a movie or animated series to tell me the story rather than play through a super linear interactive movie. The gameplay was just boring to me. From Software games ruined melee combat in every other game for me (except maybe DMC5) and Breath of the Wild ruined puzzles in every other game for me as well. It sure is a pretty game to look at though.
