I thought running a ps4 game on a ps5 made them run better.
I know it did this with God of war, Elden Ring, GTA collection.... etc

That's why a good handfull of people buy the ps4 versions and run them on the ps5... cause sometimes the ps5 version is simply is too beefy for the ps5 itself

I would still rather buy one from facebook market place.
I've seen many even go for 100-150$, same for xbox one X....

People are offloading either because they have moved to PC or to the next gen.
I know it's nice to have buyers protection, but heck, you could easily buy 2 PS4's for the price of a refurbished one. (and these wouldnt even be refurbished)

Um, you're allowed to change the email associated with the account.
All you need is a new microsoft account for your windows and you can link them.

You can easily go on the website and speak to a rep and have it done in a few minutes.
I got hacked once, so I simply closed down my existing hotmail and microsoft account, after I made a new one and migrated the account over with the help of a rep.

It shouldnt even be a hassle.

Yeah I wouldn't pay $700.

For the PS4 Pro, you'll want to add for an SSD swap. It will reduce your load times on all of your games significantly. I did this with my PS4 Pro before getting the ps5. I still use that SSD as an external drive for my ps4 games since it maintains the super fast loading.

The cheapest would be a 500gb. I don't think the system would allow for (or you would want) any less. Those are probably around $50. $80 - $100 for a 1TB ssd. You would also need a USB just to pull the PS4 operating system off of the Playstation website.

This might sound really complicated but it's not. I'm an idiot with this kind of stuff but a few youtube videos showed me how easy it was.

No problem. If you haven't checked recently, you may want to. My area just got a ton. Saw some on the shelves at Target for the first time since they released.

And I only mention it because I see refurbished PS4 Pro's listed at like $350 because they're rare, too. At that point, you might as well get the PS5 if you can find one.

You can find decent deals on apps like Offer Up or on Ebay too.

That's fair, other than the expensive point - they are on the surface cheaper than any of the other "consoles", at least for titles at launch and hardware.

No one says you have to like their games! It is another thing to, as the guy I responded to did, say that the system is "shite" because it doesn't fit your subjective and arbitrary definition of good. It didn't work for you. That is fine, even good, and good on you for realizing. You do you!

PC just murders all of them on software price point, which is why I love my Steam Deck for indie stuff and the things it runs well. I tend to play my XBSX a lot more than my PS5, as well, since I developed something of a problem with Forza Horizon 5...
