I agree. I also think it's the faces of people too. Ito's faces jump between expressive and yet also relaxed and somewhat sorrowful. Seems like a commentary on Japan at large sometimes

Hi there! Not necessarily Junji Ito in particular, but horror manga in general. But I do see why so many are drawing the comparison. I post my art mainly on my Instagram if you like my style. (Username is the same). I also have a kofi linked in my bio if you are interested in supporting. I appreciate whatever I can get. I do not make a living off my art but hopefully someday I can. I've heard of Junji Ito, but haven't seen much, so I can't make a comparison.

For me though, it feels very Addams Family. I think the artwork is fantastic.

And it's likely a me thing, but it looks like the meat face is positioned slightly off.
