Average US adult gets like 6.8hrs or so from what I've read.
Many of my friends in high paying jobs get less.
My friends with young children barely get any.

So they all contributed massive value to society, huh

One of the best visualisations I've seen in a long time.

Thanks OP, I'll give this a try. Been slacking this past year since moving away from my community, so this definitely gives me a game plan to get back into reading.

Have you met Marvel fans? Jk jk
I hear you, however I did want to read through to have understood everything for myself and not only others commentary. (Though now I can see what matches between the two and what doesn't)

So my retirement is down 30% but some of these billionaires still end up increasing their net worth?

It's about 72 hours of reading (based on average reading pace in America)
Definitely some dry and boring parts but I must say that after reading it in its entirety it helps to paint a bigger picture at least

It would be comical if Elon’s wealth gave Elon the middle finger. Just $100 billion to go.

I've read it cover to cover twice: once by reading the actual book and once by audiobook by listening to a half hour every night while going to sleep. The OT is really helpful to cure insomnia in a lot of parts. So much repetition.

Wow, a lot of love for Junichiro Tanizaki! What attracted you to his writing, and which of his books do you recommend starting with?

It is a very boring book. The koran as well. There are definitely better books to read.

Data Source: Forbes World's Billionaires List
Tools Used: Node.js for data analysis/processing, React.js for data visualization. Affinity Designer for adding additional titles and labels.
A lot of wealth has been transferred in the past few years...first in 2020-2021 with the COVID-19 pandemic, and again now in the 2022-2023 recession. Searching online, I was surprised to find a few people on this list that I've never heard of before (Gautam Adani, Mukesh Ambani, Carlos Slim Helu). I created this graphic to visualize how today's top 10 billionaires net worth has been affected by all these changing economic events worldwide in recent years. The list is sorted descendingly from highest current net worth to lowest current net worth, as of January 2023).

I wish I had it in me to track anything in my daily routine with such persistence. My lazy ass can't even be bothered to track my body weight daily.... and Fitbit does it automatically via Bluetooth.

Effective income tax in Spain for 40k gross is ~20% (it varies a bit depending on where you live within the country, bit it's around that number).
No special deductibles for me at all last year.

I switched to only eating out for dinner this year. Saves about an hour of free time every day and I’m only spend $5-$6 more on food per meal, financially a wash if I put a $ valve on the free time gained. Plus the food is better and still pretty healthy
