Is this list correct? Do they need to ask permission to put someone on this list?

Inflation is calculated based on the prices people pay for goods/services. I’d suspect inflation is lower in Nov/Dec because retail usually offers sales/discounts in those months (people buy more but it’s perhaps at a slightly lower price)

Why would the graph be during this time? Why not start it in October or November

This data demonstrates than inflation is typically lower in the second half of the year, especially in November and December. So it would appear this year the inflation data is simply following the historical trend. Only if inflation doesn't rise in the January to March data can you say that inflation has peaked and isn't following the trend.

Inflation has been lower in the past few months when looking at both unadjusted and seasonally adjusted figures, so arguably there is a good chance inflation already peaked.

The HDI is not really a good way of measuring human development, unfortunately. For example tax havens have an unfair advantage and in general the amount of factors taken into account is just way too little to give an accurate depiction. There are far better indices taking a look at development that are worth seeing.

Only three factors are included: Their GDP per Capita is good, life expectancy is ok and education seems to be decent. Unfortunately the HDI doesn't consider many important parameters

The HDI is a geometric mean, outliers have a smaller impact compared to arithmetic means. Their GDP per Capita is good, life expectancy is ok and education seems to be decent. Unfortunately the HDI doesn't consider many important parameters

‘Suck’ is a bit rough. All of Africa (except Ethiopia) has only been independent for around 70 years (some even less) after colonisation. Plus most of Africa had the furthest to go to reach western standards of development, in terms of infrastructure.

This trend will probably good for health on average. If you don't want to feel hungry, I suggest more fibre.

Yes, my handle is definitely a biblical reference. For me I think reading the Bible cover-to-cover made me realize that it just doesn't add up. If God is unchanging, he wouldn't ever command people to commit genocide. He wouldn't command to kill non-Israelite children and then later condemn the killing of Israelite children.
When I allowed myself to take a step back from the Bible and analyze it the same way I would the discussion of Greek Gods in the Iliad, or Native American traditions, or whatever, it became obvious to me that they are all fables. Why try to bend the reality of world history, archaeology, evolution, etc. to try to match a fable? Noah's Ark? Come on.
FWIW, I don't think you're a jerk OP. ;)

Reply to Report on average life expectancy by country versus micro-region. Misleading? by Hailifiknow
This study by McKinsey Institute seems very misleading. Email headline: “How much does the country you live in affect life expectancy? Not as much as you think.” Goes on in the email: “Microregions matter more In Cambodia, the national average life expectancy was 69.8 years in 2019. But in some microregions along the coast and around the country’s largest cities, life expectancy is 74.6 years—while it dips as low as 61.4 years in rural areas (where 80 percent of the population lives). Find out some possible reasons why in Pixels make the picture: A guided tour through the granular world, Chapter 1 of Pixels of Progress from the McKinsey Global Institute.”
So, is it all a hyped way to look into “granular” data? Why is McKinsey focusing on something so obvious? Click-bait?

Thanks for this - Great reading recommendations.
Since you are so familiar with the Biblical texts and have such an interesting screen name (yhwh inspired?), I’m genuinely interested in what books or ideas most convinced you toward atheism. I ask in part because I personally struggle less with issues in the text itself and more in my own experiences. For example, I wonder why if there is a Holy Spirit that’s supposed to make me more like Jesus, why I’m still so often such a jerk.
