Are you surprised? The blame goes back to the Apartheid regime who only built proper infrastructure for White communities, which represent only a small proportion of South Africans. Now that a greater proportion of the population has access to basic services and resources (rightfully so), there's not enough to go around.

The racist Apartheid regime should have thought about the consequences of underinvestment outside of White communities years ago. They thought that Apartheid would last forever I suppose.

Edit: It's amazing how may people are ignorant of the long-lasting impacts of apartheid on South Africa's ability to care for its citizens today. I'm not excusing mismanagement and corruption, but white South Africans like to blame everyone but themselves for the country's problems.

The backbone of South Africa's infrastructure (e.g. healthcare, energy, etc.) was built for only a tiny minority of the population. It is therefore incapable of supporting the entirety of the country's population without substantial investment and restructuring, which is difficult to do in a handful of decades.

Bro this is a public forum/board, other people will read this, and have an even quicker answer right here. When u say something on reddit u gotta think that someone else will also read what you post. Sure everyone could google themselves but whats the point of posting something that requires previous knowledge and context. His question adds to the overall post.

Many get more protein than the RDA of 0.8 grams per kilo of bodyweight (0.36g per pound of bodyweight). But the RDA can be seen as a minimum.

For people who exercise and try to build/maintain larger muscle mass the need increases. Studies often place their needs around 1.6g per kilo bodyweight, but higher amounts could be marginally useful. Athletes have even higher needs, and can consume 2g-3.5g per kilo bodyweight.

Lets say the average US american consumes 100g of protein per day. One average, that may be unnecessary high, but it all depends on your weight and exercise. I think people overestimate how much they exercise :)

It’s way beyond suck, it’s a massive clusterfuck and it’s the saddest thing that has ever happened in the world, literally (I’m sure who read thought it’s the holocaust, but Africa didn’t get that Oscar winning Spielberg movie).

Unfortunately I don’t think colonization explains all of it. Maybe warlords explain quite a lot

I’m sorry to bring it up but being January and that time to rethink our lives I will say it.

This has to be the laziest question I’ve ever seen in Reddit.

First, because you could have typed the same question in Google and not ask anyone to type it for you, but switching apps would be too much work, who cares

Second, because Google would give you an answer in 0.39 seconds and Reddit took 2 hours to reply. But who is on a rush, right

Just an observation
