I know, the germans were all in years ago, i have worked with the transition and still i dont see it happening anytime soon. Any client buying these things are just basically beta-testers. None of the current ones are really produced to stay, they are cashing in on a new market with many new happy customers. I see it all as a money grab.

And both individuals and large companies mainly care about this because it gives them tax benefits.

Im not hating though, i see it become better by the day but oil is not going anywhere is my opinion. We will just have both in the end, think airlines and shipping vessels by sea. That is how we get everything these days.

Sometimes I get letters in the mail saying there's an upcoming shareholder vote. They tell me which way management wants me to vote. Sometimes I log on to vote and sometimes I don't. There are plenty of small-dollar investors who will ignore all of those letters if they hold stock in their own name, which means there's no practical difference for them to own stock outright. Telling people "Don't spend beyond your means and put the excess money in a tax-preferred index fund" is still generally good advice.
