I'll try harder - my criticism of the chart beauty is not about subjective notion of colours or fancy animations, but more objective one of small - bordering on illegible - labels.

u/axkee141 don't worry. Beauty is indeed subjective, and need not have 3d animations and a spectrum of colors to necessarily be considered beautiful. Sometimes the presentation of a trend alone achieves beauty. Keep being curious. u/jakubkonecki cry harder freak

I don’t profess to know much about the modern definition. I’m just pointing out how it was referred to in the late 90s, early 2000s.

Science fiction did that well before Facebook.
Few people think of Fortnite as a Metaverse.
Most think of a Metaverse as a place you can do many things in an immersive environment.
Random games don't come to mind as universal immersive worlds.

It’s really interesting, I’ve done research on that. “Metaverses” used to be known as basically online multiplayer. So MMORPG’s, online chat rooms, etc. basically anything that enabled online communication between large groups of people. it’s only recently that companies like Facebook have tried to define it in this weird new way.

I think that flattening might correspond to when Buffett seriously started giving away money.

I probably spent about 500 hours playing THPS on PS2 back in the day and the controls just aren't as great on the switch but I am happy I bought it so I can spin it up every once in awhile!

I operate on a similar schedule, I usually fall asleep by 1pm (I stay up a bit later if I don't work that night) and wake up at 9pm to go to work at 10:30pm. My shift times are consistent, at least, so I can at least follow some kind of schedule.

On top of that, because of the drought we've been depleting groundwater at an even faster rate, and that takes much longer to replenish. So, during the next inevitable drought in the next 10 years or so we're not gonna have as much groundwater to fall back on.
We are, quite simply, using too much of a shrinking resource, and not enough is being done to deal with the problem. We needed to put the screws to the big agribusinesses years ago, that's where all the damned water's going.

I’m hearing people say the drought will be over this year…like, no dude. Definitely not.
People have very short memories and don’t really understand what a drought is and how impactful it can be.

Late 1956 to 1960. Benefited heavily from the Post-war boom I suspect, once you're hitting those kinds of numbers during that time it becomes harder to 'fail' because unless you massively fuck up on a big, risky venture the money can basically grow itself through stable, safe, lower-return investments.

This, we'd need at least a couple years of less-scorching summers with rainy winters before a real dent could be made in the drought, it's hard to overstate how dry and depleted the state is, even after being clobbered by weeks of rain and snow we're still gonna have water problems.

It's ultimately a temporary reprieve that'll help with water supply for this year and maybe a ripple effect into next year depending on how much melts. The issue is prolonged drought plus overconsumption of water resources has depleted the 'stockpile' of snowpack that usually accumulates year over year, as well as the groundwater reserves. What the state needs is at least several winters with rain/snowfall like what we're getting this winter.
