Even with the weird axes issue (not going to zero for both) this looks like the DRC has undiversified their GDP at their peril (i.e., they have probably contracted Dutch Disease).

Do you have a better solution?
Clearly if we have to pick between petroleum and cobalt, cobalt is a better option, no?

Great job. Correction: UCLA is in the city of Los Angeles, not Pasadena.

"The Council of Graduate Schools produced a study on the PhD completion and attrition. The study looked at 49,000 students attending 30 institutions in 54 disciplines comprising 330 programs. Astonishingly, the completion rate ten years after students begin their doctoral program remains low at 56.6%."
even when accounting for external factors that could lower that number, it is pretty low.
but you say
"Many PhD students are dumb as rocks. After you get in it's very hard not to graduate."
your school is ranked higher in what? nonsense?
what you're saying doesn't add up. so i am just going to go with the reasonable path of ignoring you.

Are you referring to why the addresses are the easy they are (because of the 1898 consolidation)? I knew that already. What I’m referring to is that it is improper to address an envelope to someone in Brooklyn using New York, New York. No one I’ve ever known does that, we all follow what the post office says to do, which is Brooklyn, New York.

Well the thing with the reservoirs is they measure them differently. They can't hold all the water. If they did then there wouldn't be room to store the runoff from the snow melt later. But trust me I'm in northern California and it's a lot of fricken rain.

Retail includes all purchases from stores. I bought a lot of gear this year because I finally have the time and money to do so. In august I bought a nice bike. I do not expect retail to be that high this year. I was making up for living very frugally previously.

I didn’t include income that went to taxes or savings because this chart is just a representation of my disposable income. I was under budget and the remaining 2k will just add a bump to my savings.

Although you have to remember that this land is not rendered useless. It can still be used for farming with elevated solar panels, as grazing land or biotopes. And you can use already sealed spaces like parking spaces and houses.

Not a bad idea, although most sites in California were built (purposefully) to never reach true “capacity”.
I’d recommend doing a trend line from Sep to Mar from 1980 - 2023, graying the middle 66% trend lines, and separate coloring lines for the top 16% and bottom 16% with year identifies

Sweet; now do Lake Cachuma - downriver from Gibraltar and much larger capacity (and more depleted).
