Yeah, you can imagine what a rollercoaster it was to research this map. The surprises just kept on coming.

It does, thanks! I suspected as much, but I couldn't really assume.

I have had two back surgeries and I still have occasional severe pain in my lower back. I’ll ask for 4 or 5 Vicodin to get me through until it stops hurting. Usually takes about 3 or 4 days before the pain isnt debilitating. They act like I’ve asked them for crack and sex with their SO.

Interestingly, the Portuguese version is known by most countries on this map as the outro theme. It played during the credits.

Is the scale ... logarithmic? Or just in rank order.
Did this need to be a graph?

For more TV shows you mean? Oddly enough I haven't found any others from my childhood where this phenomenon is so prominently displayed. Do you know of any?

Same here with Andy Knote here in Germany. He and a hand full of people are responsible of every German song made in anime. They got even own sampler series. You can find them under "Anime Allstars"
some like Noel Pix got with Bands famous later.

No you’re right that opium poppies have the highest concentration, its just that all poppies have some level of narcotics in them.

But in significant numbers ?
But that would explain why people cut my poppy’s seed heads that are near a public road

All poppys contain opiates.

I grew up watching anime on the Italian channels and had most of her songs memorized. I was about 20 and arguing with friends that anime were Italian :).. that was a rude awakening!

I'm starting to understand why a lot of these cartoons were labeled as "french" in our tv magazines back in the days.

Yes. And sadly the damage is already done and will be until my generation is dead and gone. The war on drugs was a disguised war on the people....and opiates were the final blow that won it. More were lost from opiate overdose in it's worst year than the AIDS epidemic lost at it's height in the 80s. Where are the protesters looking for an answer to an end. Kissinger gave a model for population control...and boy are they using it.

Following that logic, an Audi RS3 Limousine is half the price of the Tesla Model S Plaid and only need 40% of its power to make about the same lap time (7:35.52)...

Ah great, now people with surgically fused spines and cancer pain just get told "sorry bud, you can take some Tylenol?"
But I'm sure glad no one's abusing opioids anymore!

This is a massive topic that has began to spread. Here is the UK we are trying to get a handle on it, though the start was a bit different. Opioid drugs became licensed for use for cancer pains and were able to be prescribed.for GPs. Overtime they began to be prescribed for other pains as well and as a result many patients got put on them for pains that thy wouldn't die from.
Unfortunately one issue is the opiod addiction that resulted, but actually, two other issues compound the problem massively.
Firstly over time patients develop tolerance. That is, the body essentially gets used to the opioid dose and needs more to have he same effect. What may have started with a pain needing 30mg of codeine a couple of times a day can progress over years to the same person needing 120 mg of morphine a day. GPs just kept raising he dose because that was often a.quicker/easier action than tackling the root problem. Chronic pain clinics are underfunded, have huge waiting lists and any success from them can take.weeks/months etc from the patient's initial consultation,.compared to a 15 second.raise in.the prescription dose.
Secondly, some.patients can develop opioid induced hyperalgesia. The pain pathways alter and thr opioid itself.can stimulate it causing pain. The patient is already.addicted to the drug and at this point the pain is chronic, so explaining that they need to reduce the dose is often met with refusal and disbelief (understandably).
Opioid can be very useful in the short term but long term they can be terrible.

There's gabapentin which is decent for nerve pain.
Then there's stuff you might take for minor aches and pains; aspirin, naproxen, acetominophen, ibuprofen.
Fot severe pain, opioids are far more effective than any of those.

"%age" - I was looking for the forest "age" by colour legend for a few seconds there.
% is enough, no age needed in title.
