Not really.

There was one study showing this to be the case, Ofstedt and Schneider I think, and they got so shredded on the maths that they had to go out and admit that they never intended to get it right!

The maths is not terribly hard, how many 18-year olds need to die to lower the life expectancy of 325 million people by one year? Is that more or less than the US lost through WW2?

This made me curious; small depreciation and no lease fees for airplanes, so I looked a bit.

They have $2126M in airplanes, so obviously they depreciate very little. But their net earnings are not even 1.5% of the value of the airplanes.

Better to sell the planes, fire everyone, and stick that money in a bond.

What that 2019 outlier? I don't think you can get to statistical significance on that one year. This looks like what I'd expect it to look like. You're probably better getting into the big data game by game statistics if you're looking for sings of tampering.
