Dude, I literally live in California. San Francisco to be precise.

I grew up in Brazil and I can assure that SF is scary. I feel safer in my hometown in Brazil (so called 3rd world) than in California (not everywhere, though). After 9 years living there, they already broke into my house once (in a nice neighborhood in RWC and 3 times into my car in SF).

I don’t know why people keep defending SF like it’s not crazy bad. This is just about ideologies. Admitting that SF is a shithole at the moment, won’t automatically make republicans right and democrats wrong. Maybe there’s just a few things that we should reconsider.

Yes, NOW they can get away with extortionate prices on drugs, because of “woke” culture or some weird bullshit going on in your head. They haven’t been doing this for decades or anything the old fashioned way of “millions in lobbying dollars to make politicians look the other way and not write pricing legislation.” Holy shit, the length people like you go to feel aggrieved. Let’s throw out literal decades of neocapitalist history you can actually track through donation dollars and written law and make up some nonsense about a minority getting a job as “the real cause.” What fragile little worlds you all live in.

I wonder what this would look like if you adjusted by average miles per gallon for the cars in that year. I would expect that might indirectly make the total cost of gas cheaper with more efficient cars. Though I have no idea if that type of data is available, or if car efficiency changed significantly since the 90s.
