>Honey actually breaks down proteins ( mucus is a protein).

Even if this were true, this says nothing about whether it fights illness or reduces time to recovery.

>it is very effective at killing bacteria

Colds are not caused by bacteria.

This is junk medicine. Get your medical advice from your doctor and stop taking it from random people on Reddit.

That's not entirely accurate. Technically speaking, the US government doesn't create money at all.

What happens is the Federal Reserve adjusts the base lending rate, which adjusts how quickly banks are giving out loans. And every time a bank gives out a loan, it is effectively creating new money since it also holds on to the original money that loan was based on.

It is called "fractional reserve banking" and it is how almost all countries do it. Very few countries actually create money anymore.

If you believe that the tools, equipment, and people you need next year will be cheaper, then saving money makes sense. But as things are consistently getting more expensive with inflation, it has almost always made sense to keep employees well paid and lots of equipment ready in order to turn money (always losing value) into other assets like people, tools, and land (typically gaining value) while also reducing taxes paid.

the citric acid in the lemon also helps with this. Its why a lime would actually work pretty much as well as a lemon, but an orange (which has much less citric acid, which is why you eat those without puckering up) would be less effective

>Sorry. Are you confident that lemon has no effect?

I am confident that there is no significant evidence supporting the claim that it does.

>other answers seem to say that citric acid cuts mucus.

I can find no supporting evidence for this.

Drinking water thins mucus. If you want to put some lemon in your water and that makes it more likely for you to drink water, then lemon can help you thin mucus.

>And who has any sources to back them up?

As with all requests for medical advice, talk to your doctor and don't listen to random people on social media. Even if someone can come prepared with a study that they feel proves them right, you have no idea whether that study says what they claim it does or whether the study was done correctly or whether it's an outlier when 10 other studies prove the opposite conclusion. Understanding how to read scientific studies is a skill they teach you in medical school. Talk to your doctor.

Some of that is due to the quarterly reporting requirements of many large (often public) companies. Once you go over a quarterly-- and especially a yearly-- boundary, that lack of spend gets "locked in" as profit. At that point it's subject to corporate taxes, and potentially even a portion returned to the stockholders or however else the corporate governance has agreed to disposition profits.

Amazon famously operated at a zero profit for a decade, re-investing all profits and owing no taxes on no income. If some manager had claimed to need a few million then didn't spend it (but prevented it from being invested elsewhere in the company), they'd probably be fired, not celebrated for "saving" money.

If you're tracking your spend throughout the year, and not spending the expected amount in one area, there are also potentially other ways to spend that money to get a better return than it sitting in someone's "unspent" account as cash. And if a manager is going to argue they still need it, they'd darn well better need it.

Other plants use nitrogen in useable forms in the soil, so while nitrogen fixation is important to be able to thrive in poorer soil, I don't see how it would categorically lead to more nitrogen used.

The nutrition facts I found have pistachios at 11.6g of protein per half cup, and black beans at 7.3g for the same volume. Measured by calories, black beans do a lot better, since pistachios have a lot of fat, but the pistachios have a lot of protein in them. You can see the same thing in other human-edible seeds.

Other answers so far are incorrect.

Legumes, and few other types of plants are categorized as Nitrogen Fixers.

Nitrogen is one of the elements required to make protein, and not necessary in fats or carbs

A nitrogen fixing plant is one that has a symbiotic relationship with one of a few specific types of bacteria. These bacteria make colonies attached the roots of these plants (shown in the link). The bacteria take nitrogen from the atmosphere (gas) and turn it into a form of nitrogen fertilizer that plants can use (liquid).

Legumes, and other N-Fixers essentially get free fertilizer, where the rest of the plant kingdom does not. These N-fixers have a surplus of nitrogen compared to other plants, so they can use it their seeds, assumingly as a form of energy storage, instead of relying on carbs or fats to store energy in the seed.

In fact, Legumes and other nitrogen fixers are a component to regenerative, sustainable agriculture, because they can produce nitrogen naturally, instead of us making N fertilizer out of fossil fuels.

tl;dr legumes and their bacteria buddies get free nitrogen, which is needed to make protein, while almost all other plants have to struggle to get nitrogen so they use oils and carbs to store energy in the seed instead.

You make it out of something other than metal. Carbon and ceramic are good options for parts of a forge. These materials are way more heat resistant than metal.

These materials are produced by a method other than forging so it doesn't require anything to be even more heat resistant.

A weight gain of 47 pounds in a year is huge, yet it is only 2oz gain per day. 2oz is about 1/30th of your intake. So, it's not the mass of what you eat, it is the parts you retain

A budget is arbitrary. We aren't talking about less goods sold in this situation, but adjusting expenses. If we can raise expenses we lower profits. Lower profits are lower taxes.

The previous years earnings are not double taxed, they are capital to use on expenses for the next year. The IRS only cares about the changes in assets from beginning of year to end of year

Edit: additionally, a project started but not completed, such as building and selling a house, or individual good sales, can be delayed until the next financial year if it is not sold or the project is completed.

I find it strange that people thought other places (like the heart) were where mind resides, because I can "feel" I am in my head, not other part of my body. Maybe it's just learned feeling from knowing the truth.

Also the placement of eyes and ears kinda place the center of self into the head.
