Stomach acid and your own digestive enzymes break down the bromelain (the pineapple enzyme).

> Me and Joe went to the park means basically the same as Joe and I went to the park, but only one is correct.
"Me" is an object not a subject. They don't mean the same thing, but "me went to the park" is meaningless so people will still understand what you mean.

It takes energy to fuse atoms together, but the act of fusing atoms together also releases energy, aka, you have to break a few eggs to make an omelette.
As long as the energy coming out of fusion is higher than the energy needed to do it, a star can exist happily.
For all the elements before iron, this is the case, more energy comes out.
Iron, however, is the first element that takes MORE energy to fuse than it gives back, the star isn't so happy any more. It now has to use a lot of eggs to make a rather sh***y omelette.

Putting the brown first puts the emphasis on brown. Imagine two big brick walls, one brown, one green. "The brown big brick wall" no longer sounds wrong.

In spoken English, yes. In written English, that would be "brown, big-brick wall". Then again, it should be "The brown, big, brick wall" in written English to begin with.

Short easy ELI5 answer.
Orange justice is not bad for you in moderation. Heating it, turning it into a mist or vapour and inhaling it is probably bad for you.
Many things that do not irritate our skin or digestive tract create reactions in lung tissue. This can either be severe and bad in the immediate term, or long term mild inflammation can cause scar tissue formation and damage lungs.

Reply to comment by Away_Establishment45 in ELI5: why does low haemoglobin have such dangerous effects (stroke, heart attack etc.) by Away_Establishment45
The quick test will be a point of care test (like a glucose meter but for hb) - they'll then collect more blood to check much more detailed tests - these will give good indications of why the hb is so low - blood count is pretty helpful for leukaemia as you'd find way too many of one type of blood cell. Most common is low iron, also possible low b12. Then there's other things but basically boils down to not making enough blood, or losing too much.

To simplify further: You can think of iron as the ash of atomic reactions.
Why can't you burn ash? Because it's already been burnt and given all the energy it has to give.
The same goes for iron, it is the end result of atomic processes and doing anything with iron requires you putting more energy into it.

Sometimes e-mail is used like you'd use "mail" or "post" - "I wrote a lot of mail today"
But sometimes it's used like you'd use "letter" - "I wrote a lot of letters today"

Is it not because the Romans had 10 months and then Julius Caesar and Augustus each decided to add an additional month?

This is what I want:
12 months in a year
3 weeks in a month
10 days in a week
10 hours in a day
100 minutes in a hour
100 seconds in a minute
These new seconds are not the same length as regular seconds. I haven't done the math but it is possible to just make a second faster or slower.
Every year ends with a leap week of 4 or 5 days to adjust the calendar.

This is absolutely true. For example, there are no rules in English barring the use of split infinitives, ending sentences in prepositions, or beginning them with conjunctions. These were all created by individuals who didn't like them stylistically. These rules percolated around and eventually got picked up by grammar-nazi school marms who drilled it into their students as though it were fact.

Assertions attributed to one source are how English wound up with so many fake rules like those outlawing split infinitives, starting sentences with conjunctions, and ending them with prepositions.

The greatest analogy I heard in that regard is to see the CPU as a couple of professors, each calculating difficult equations, while the GPU is a large group of toddlers each coloring a square.
Of course the professors could also color the squares, but they would just waste their potential since they are able to perform much more difficult tasks. It's simply more efficient to let the couple of professors do the hard work, while the large group of toddlers works on coloring the squares.
