The language bit here is about how people “respond” rather than “perceive.” They might use the same word for two colors, that doesn’t mean they cannot “see” or “understand” that green and blue have differences. It is also about the question you ask them: “what color is this?” vs “which of these is darker?”

The seeing of bands of color is actually more about the human retina and cones. As such the cones are more sensitive to particular wavelengths of electromagnetic energy (for brevity we call these RGB, the perception of yellow is the RG both being stimulated) and less sensitive to other wavelengths. At this level it does not involve the brain/language as implied by this post. Obviously categorizing and naming colors is the brain activity; as is the opponent process, but that's not particularly relevant to the retinal activity that "creates" the bands.

This might be nit-picking, but I think you mean "column" instead of "row", yes? I think you're talking about having similar properties due to their number of valence electrons, which is represented by the column.

In all seriousness, there is code in the air 24/7. Some guys just prefer it. When it comes to contesting, they can talk to way more people in bad conditions than you can with voice. It's an art form that it really amazing. If you want to see it first hand, the easiest time is during ARRL Field Day. Look it up and find a station near you to observe.

Depends on the ad and the businesses reason for the ad. Social media sites have reporting for businesses who advertise that can show different info. So one ad you might be trying to get as many people as possible to see it. While on another you may be tracking how many people click the ad or how many people click and purchase something.

TLDR; Platforms like Reddit and Facebook have tools that let you see performance.

There are a lot of metrics companies can use. Browser cookies will tell a company if you clicked on an ad, and whether or not you bought something as a result. Another tool is discount codes; give one code to one advertiser and a different code to another, and see which gets used more. You could do something similar with phone numbers or websites.

You are indeed right that this is very hard to measure. It is somewhat easier on social media as advertisers often get detailed information about who got shown which ad at what point and how long it stayed on screen, if they moved their mouse over it, etc. Obviously the easiest indicator for an ads effectiveness is to measure how many people clicked the ad and then how many stayed on your webpage navigating around and then how many actually spent money and how much money they spent. But this does not give very accurate results as a lot of people who see an ad will ignore it initially but then talk about the product more frequently after having seen the ad which then might result in a sale through another channel later on. So you need to try to correlate the different ad campaigns with things like mentions, visits to your webpage, and eventually sales. And this can be very hard to do right.

the reason we perceive the spectrum as bands is primarily a function of our eyes and how they detect light at three main wavelengths. Whether the person considers the intermediate colors as unique or part of the dominant RGB bands, though, is generally socio-linguistic.

When you look carefully at a spectrum, there is no segregation between colors, the colors transition instead. We humans divide it into "bands" (unique colors) by choice, not because such bands are actually there. But ask someone where the line between colors actually and specifically happens, and I bet you would get lots of different answers.

If its a link very often there is a part behind the normal link to a site that tells the website where you came from. It is usually something like reddit(dot)com/r/eli5/thispost?asdhjahjsdjkasdjghk the part behind the question mark then could tell me you got to this post through an add on facebook or google or what ever (there are other ways to do this but this is a very common one). After that websites save cookies to identify you and can match where you came from and what you bought.

Like others already stated is mainly due to the miniaturization of the hardware.

A computer on its lowest layer consists of logic gates. These are 'blocks' of switches that can, for example, compare input signals and compute simple logic like AND, OR, etc. Those switches need to be able to be activated or deactivated by other logic to make a "computer".

At the beginning those where e.g. electrical relays. The first electrical switch, was as far as I know the vacuum tube. Those things were quite big.

Then came the transistor, which could be switched on by a small voltage.

Then came the integrated monolithic computer chip. Which allowed to put complex combinations of those transistors very densly packed onto one chip.

So this process reduced a thing that can be held in a hand to a microscopic 5nm integrated circuit on a silicon waver, which also reduced the energy required for computations considerably.

Hemorrhoids are nothing to be shamed of! Many women get them from being pregnant. Some go away, some stay. Some stay the same for years and some get worse over time. I got mine checke this year and surgery would be possible, even without staying over night in the hospital. But(t - hehe) the procedure is quite painful, better said the healing process. It really also depends on how it looks at the last part of colon inside, after the Anus. The situation can differ also from how the anus is working properly. Please see a specialist for your personal diagnosis. Doctors that work in that field see that everyday, they won't shame you for anything.

Also I'd recommend to get a mobile bidet. You can fill up a little bottle with water (warm, at best) and clean your private area. The special outlet will splash that water on the dirty parts and makes it easier to clean. It will not only save you a lot of toilet paper but also the paint that comes when you have to wipe often to be clean. No more bloody spots or feeling of being clean 100%.

If you have lady parts you can use that very well for that area :) especially on periods or post partum days.

Depends on the ad. Some I've seen give different promocodes on different media/ads, then count codes used. Some have a weaker correlation in sales made vs ads made, where you match jumps in sales to as start dates to get rough estimates. Some just do surveys, like you said.

I don't know. But I've been a Ham since I was a kid in 1982 and I know many hams that were licensed in the early 60's. I've always heard it was someone's "fist" that was unique. However most operators since the early 80's use what is known as a "keyer" and a set of paddles. One paddle make the dit (dot) and the other makes the Dah (dash). The keyer makes perfect spacing for each letter and therefore makes you sound less unique but better and easier to copy. Also using an electronic keyer allows you to send much faster (>60wpm in some cases) than a straight key like you see in old movies.
