Thank you for your answer! I totally forgot that we cannot digest cellulose and cows have four stomach that help them digest grass.

Thank you for your explanation and taking my question seriously! Yes my workout and diet gives me normal results and I'm happy with them because I'm not on juice. Indeed the dinosaurs of past were huuuge and our buffaloes or today are basically very smol compared to them. Thanks again for going in depth on this topic!

What is this presumptive statement of “knowing ‘plenty of people,’” referring to? I’ve never seen anyone leave their car running while refueling. It’s seen as common sense out here to turn off your engine for safety reasons, whether that be the whole truth or not, for the reason to turn the engine off. How many people are “plenty?”
What are the statistics for how many people refuel with their engines running vs. how many refuel with their engines off? I’m guessing the latter would be the vast majority, and the former would likely be so minute, that it’s not surprising that there haven’t been any National stories of any incidents.

I agree with your clarification. But to clarify (maybe belabor?) my earlier point, I'm not specifically saying you were wrong. I'm combining the above definition (not from you):
>The simplest explanation is queer = anything that isn't heteronormative
With your definition that "heteronormative simply means the belief..." I don't think those are both true.

Yep. As a pharmacist many people think they're allergic to things that are just side effects manifesting.... You got stomach upset from codeine because it is codeine. I can imagine OTC epipens being used for all sorts of nonsense.

Right? Let's say we recruit a "small person" (a clinical dwarf... even someone on the lower end of clinical dwarfism) onto a football team. Let's say that that's 65 pounds of man plus a few more pounds of helmet, shoulder pads, etc.. Well, even the very strongest of men isn't going to fling that other man very far.

Reply to Eli5: Old Three Stooges episodes show people occasionally breathing into paper bags as some sort of remedy for emergency situations involving stress or trauma… what was the belief then and what do we now know better about the practice? by coffeygrande
This is technique to control hyperventilation, such as in a panic attack. When you hyperventilate, your oxygen (O2) levels go up and your cardon dioxides (CO2) levels drop. In a healthy state, you need a certain O2 and CO2 balance, but hyperventilating tips the scale to having more O2. If you have too much O2, your blood PH changes and becomes too alkaline. If you remember the book or movie The Andromeda Strain, the researches discovered that the killer virus does not survive in alkaline environment, so an infected person had to hyperventilate in order to not drop dead.
The idea is that by breathing in and out of a paper bag, you would inhale more CO2. The extra CO2 balances with the extra O2 you get from the hyperventilating. I don't think the breathing in and out of the bag necessarily helps calm the panic attack, but it does help prevent the panic attack from creating further medical complications.
The current medical opinion is a bit divided. The science behind it still makes sense, but some doctors might argue that this technique might cause other types of harm. An incorrect use of the paper bag might lead to too much CO2 and not enough O2, which causes another danger. This technique can also be unsafe for those with certain medical conditions.

When people hyperventilate breathing into a bag works by putting some of the lost carbon dioxide back into your lungs and body. This helps to balance oxygen flow in your body

Hyperventilation can cause loss of CO2 from the blood leading to faint-headedness and panic. https://medlineplus.gov/ency/article/003071.htm#:~:text=Excessive%20breathing%20creates%20a%20low,such%20as%20bleeding%20or%20infection. Breathing into a bag increases the CO2 into the blood (as you are rebreathing old breath) and restoring the balance.

You're misunderstanding me. I'm not saying not being queer means believing the heteronormative ideology. I'm saying anyone who doesn't meet the criteria set by heteronormativity is definitionally queer. It just helps with categorisation.

Yup, 100% I get that. And that to me, is reasonable. Also even what I may think isn't reasonable is just the way it has ro be for other people, so do what you gotta at the end of the day.

I mean, it depends on how much you're exerting yourself and how much you want to use perfumes and antimicrobials to mask or subdue any odor.
I used to do strenuous work indoors, so I'd change my exterior shirt and pants every 1-2 days, while changing my underwear every day. Now I do more sedentary work mixed outdoors and indoors, and I find that I can stretch the same exterior shirt and pants for a few days straight.
It sounds a bit grody, but what am I supposed to do? Mortgage and condo fees are already expensive, let alone laundry. And my time is at a premium. I'll be damned if I'm going to waste a lot of my personal time in the morning or evening doing laundry because my employer only provides me 2 uniforms, if I can stretch things slightly so that I only do laundry on the weekend....

Reply to comment by K3piper in eli5: Different body hairs grows differently by kenito225
This is not really true; your hairs don’t know how long they are, they grow for a while and then slow down and fall out. (Iirc they do this by growing a thinner section of hair that easily breaks off). Each follicle repeats this cycle over and over.
After a while this will result in an even hair length that depends on the length each hair grows in each cycle.

Looks like the pushing clause was removed in 2013 (from the NFL at least), good catch.

They're both ideologies and thus necessitate belief. Either one of them may be closer to the objective truth but that hasn't been explored adequately. I used that framing as a working definition rather than something concrete.
