So when I delete it I'm just saying "this cannot be accessed and has permission to be overwritten" but it's still "physically" there?

At the beginning of the computer memory there is a list of all the files with their names, locations and sizes. When you delete a file the record of that file is deleted from the list. From now on the place in the memory with that file’s information is considered free and can be eventually allocated for a new file. For this reason it is possible to “undelete” files within some time period after deleting them - right up to the moment when the data gets actually overwritten, which may be a while.

Besides the other answers, there are certain circumstances where you have to charge above a certain price. [Dumping](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dumping_(pricing_policy)) is one of those circumstances, mainly in international trade, certain countries forbids you to charge so little that you drive out competition thus becoming a monopoly.

I didn't say it was not eli5, I said it doesn't answer the question. You tried to explain why prices fluctuate, not how companies can predict the prices accurately.

You can, and people have, sell a picture of an Xbox or an empty box on ebay for $1000. As long as you clearly describe what you're selling.

blood is the highway your body uses to transport oxygen and some other stuff to the organs and muscles to keep them functional. while the body does make blood over time, it takes time as well as water ingestion. a person who has quickly lost a large amount of blood cannot regenerate it in time to prevent death. they require it immediately or their systems will shut down and they will die.
tldr can't make more blood fast enough in such instances

The fact that you don't have control over the price of potatoes in general. You can sell what you own for whatever you want, but you have no power or authority over an entire commodity.

There are also natural and war disaster laws in place in most US states that stop price gouging.

The people who donate blood donate a much smaller amount than the people who lose it and need a transfusion. Also, the people who donate blood need to be in perfect health and they can't take meds. The blood needs to be 'pure'. You get asked a lot of questions before you donate blood and if you're eligible, then they give you a physical and test your haemoglobin. That's basically the iron. If it's too low, or if your blood pressure is too low, they won't let you donate blood because you can pass out and it's not healthy. Also, after some surgeries and accidents resulting in bloodloss, you don't need a transfusion. It really depends on the amount.

The word "flic" in French seems to come from the German word Flick, which means young man. Apparently, it would have crossed the border as a slang word to designate German criminals.
Another theory is that it comes from the German word "Fliege", which means fly (the animal), a word used several centuries earlier to designate snitches, and, by extension, the police they were snitching to.

I can't even remember the last time I had a haircut. My hair just stops growing at a certain length.
I don't really have to shave, either. My facial hair also has terminal length. I just trim it to keep it neat.

Plenty of Chinese netizens know how.
These types of things aren't secrets that the government doesn't know about, rather it's simply the case that the government doesn't have the resources to shut all the various backdoors down without limiting the internet so much it causes other issues.

Blood does replenish but it takes a while. It takes about 24 hours to replace the volume of a pint of blood and 4-6 weeks to replace a pints worth of red blood cells. If you've suffered major blood loss, you need blood NOW or you're going to die in minutes.
When you donate blood, you only donate what you can spare. The average adult can spare 1 pint of blood to donate but that's very different than getting shot or stabbed and losing 5 pints of blood.

If buffalos have got you thinking, I'm gonna blow your mind by telling you about elephants and brontosauri. Or even gorillas--these bulky beasts get super swole by eating plants.
You don't need meat to get big. Especially when you have a digestive system that is capable of getting nutrition from non-meat sources. Lots of animals have evolved different digestive systems than us. They get more out of the plants that they eat than we do.
(Heck, even humans don't need meat to get big. We just need protein--and this can come from many non-meat sources.)

Depends on where you are in the world.
Some countries have set controlled pricing for bread and the like to prevent arbitrary price hiking on basic goods.
But generally, the real limit you have as a vendor is whether your customers are willing to pay the increased price, or will a competitor undercut you.
It doesn't matter how much you make per sale if no one will buy from you.
