Same etymology though - something or someone being delicate (hence the 'filet mignon') or cute (eg the darling / favourite of a king > their loyal servant).

That was sarcasm, I think. They are suggesting the veggies are way overcooked. Just sauté them and add to the rice with sauce at the end. Why slow cook veggies? I would understand if it were a stew.

TBF, Some of the best cheesesteaks I’ve had (in Philly) the cheese isn’t visible.
John’s Roast Pork for example, or Dellisandros — the cheese isn’t all that apparent visually.
But they look a lot better than this, and probably taste it too.
