Ignorance isn’t always bad. The option to have several good products made by different companies is a good thing.
And they should reasonably be able to function without a handful of other thousand-dollar devices.

Not top end, but you can get a very good pc with 1,300, and it can play anything on steams library. You can’t beat windows universality and versatility.

I’m in the same boat as you btw. Doing software development on an Intel MBP. Right now my skills are the bottleneck, not the machine. Maybe that will change in the future.

There’s some solid stats!

I mean, what are the odds of owning an Apple TV if you don’t own an iPhone? The iPhone is literally the gateway drug of Apple products.

Fanboy? Lmao. As if you’re been objective buddy. My example proves to you that ram ain’t everything.
No matter how you will want to spin it, your 12gb of ram ain’t shit if it’s not the most powerful

You can find great used deals on FB marketplace or OfferUp. I got an M1 Pro Mac Studio for $800 last month from some college student who didn’t need it

Yes, the phone with an ARM vs the phone with the ARM most definitely performs way worse.
Stop being such a fanboy. Apple isn't some magical company that designs everything perfect.

I’m in the UK and have owned several since the PowerPC days when you could install OS X on them with a bit of tinkering and turn them into pseudo Mac Mini’s. It helps that they used to give them out free with MacBooks and iMacs if you were a student or working in education. Now you just get an Apple media voucher.

Exactly! This is why I haven’t bought any new macs. This pricing is atrocious! Also the SSDs actually have a lifetime.

Mine is perfect. Its basically just a home PC, remote server management console, and former Plex (now Jellyfin, just switched) server and its never really missed a beat.
