I run MacOS, Windows, and Linux on my M1 Mac Studio all the time. It works fantastic.

When the M1 MBPs came out, one of the lead engineers at Twitter said that the improvement in compilation time for their developer’s was so impressive that the saved time would pay for the cost of the machines in less than 6 months in increased productivity. Compilation benefits massively from fast IO, particularly when you’re compiling locally with optimisations off to improve build times, and the disk and memory bandwidth improvement over the Intel machines is huge. Apple claim the new M2 MBPs compile Xcode projects 2.5x faster than the last Intel machines.

I don't think Apple has ever done that in it's entire existence

Macbooks ship with 96GB, but this isn't a laptop.

even ultrabook form factor laptops are shipping with 64GB (see Thinkpad X1 Carbon, X1 Yoga), old ass thinkpad's like the T480 could do 2x32GB

Honestly it's very doubtful that they would have been able to make enough of an improvement to make it successful. Most of the problem was the marketing, which really overpromised what it could do; they tried to pretend it was a virtual reality machine when in reality the most it could do was display low-resolution graphics with the illusion of depth and none of the core technologies needed for VR like head tracking or actual realtime 3D graphics.
It was more of a toy than anything else, and if it came out as a toy instead of a game system we would have thought of it as being much more successful.

Certain games make me feel nauseous but most are fine. Its when the screen moves alot with the motion of the characters head. I think it's called camera sway, thankfully a lot of game have the option to switch it off.

I tired a couple game on a vr headset both times I felt very sick within 10 mins. But I also get seasick out at sea so I think it's a me thing. I wonder if the motion sickness tablets work for things like vr or ar headsets?

2020 drone with a 1993 camera. Felt like watching something on an old AFV episode with Bob Saget.

Exactly. While I trust most precious being in the world, to my own hands, eyes and reflexes, I would be stressed seeing that this is overtaken by some automation (all of us seen those Tesla autopilot fails right?)

I may not be a parent, but I feel like not having control of the stroller that your child is in would be quite stressful

They probably went with an analog vtx to save on weight, increasing the theoretical max speed. Nowadays, there are many HD video options but their chipset is heavier.
