And you think Arch overcomes this problem?

The fact that you think Arch+KDE being established as the "default" distro would improve Linux's ability to compete with Windows is an outstanding example of why Linux doesn't and likely never will. It's closer to a worst-case scenario.

I'm interested mostly in an internal dGPU, rather than an eGPU. I have a workstation/gaming desktop, and can offload the really computationally intensive tasks to it. So the dGPU is really if I want to do some light gaming, or more likely, make sure that some Torch code is talking to CUDA correctly before I bother getting out of bed to turn my workstation on.
I think, honestly, that eGPU enclosures are kind of inefficient, and only make sense for a very narrow range of budgets and usecases. The tech behind them is absolutely fucking cool as Hell, but given the choice between paying a few hundred bucks to hook up a graphics card to my laptop, or paying a few hundred bucks more than that to just have a second, separate computer that I can use for compute and Steam Play and such, I'd probably go with the latter option.

Wouldn't it be possible to just get a thunderbolt port for the laptop and use a thunderbolt to dGPU adapter? Or do you mean an internal dGPU?

It's nice to see Framework branching out into other areas involving repairing and upgrading devices. Just selling laptops and components to their own customers, however well they might be doing it, is definitely less stable as a business than diversifying.
I'd still like to see a dGPU option for the Framework chassis, and an AMD mainboard, but I'm happy with this.

yea but it's one of the older ones that uses the wireless USB connection. I've had it for probably 6 years now so may be time to get a newer model hahaha

That would be interesting. I wonder, would that require a whole new chassis for the Framework or could the existing one fit a touch screen by just swapping the panel?

You're using just a standard cabled Xbox controller? It's odd that you aren't having any luck with it. Steam controllers aren't produced anymore so idk what prices are like on those, but I'd suggest just picking up a used Bluetooth Xbox/ps4 controller and trying it out.

That's because the SN740 has a higher rated load wattage than the stock drives. The SN530 was the most recommended replacement drive for the SD in people's testing because of small discrepancies like this.

It's a critique based off conjecture and not actual use. It's like leaving a negative review of a recipe based purely off what you think is going to taste like without actually making it.
I have an Android phone, but while it was at Samsung being fixed, I used an iPhone. The dynamic island doesn't interfere with videos anymore than any other punch hole or notch on any other phone.

Yup. I bought it to essentially replace my switch (I still play smash bros online so not fully replaced, but replaced for travel. Played a few games on the plane yesterday, and doing PSP emulation gives this thing a LONGG battery life. Also super grateful for the back buttons for emulator shortcuts or other controller config options, like just adding keybinds for a lot of games that have multiple menu shortcuts using tab, esc, I for inventory, m for map, b for binocular, p for skills, etc.

You can get them on AliExpress for ~250 but then it takes 6-12weeks to ship and it's AliExpress.
That's what I did and to me it feels like it also runs hotter than the stock 512gb drive
Edit: changed Alibaba to AliExpress. Also looks like they're $215 on AliExpress now.
