Not often but I don't buy powerbanks daily anyway. A while ago - but not currently - they were on the shelf at mediamarkt, and I've seen them in malls in dubai.

It’s a tech demonstration if nothing else. E-ink badly needs to renewed interest. It’s difficult technology to work with - but I long for a future where they are commonplace in screens. They’re awesome.

Moulding black plastic is typically cheaper than colors.

I agree, but it also seems like if you happen to have one of these, they should just replace it no questions asked. Does it really matter where you got it from or if you have a receipt?

I could've sworn Samsung literally made this exact device and presented it at CES 2022. Is lining the chassis with haptic-sensors that big of a leap?

I hope they adhere to that concept for that machine. I gotta give Tim Apple some credit though, since the introduction of M1 and beyond a lot of the changes in the computer world of apple have been the right ones. Still thrilled with my m1 Macbook pro and love that SD card slot and actual io

Looks like a really fun diy project, however it's kind of weird that the screen is powered by nfc despite the entire thing being mounted in one unit. I get that it's an amalgamation of parts and modules, but it still seems odd!

Seriously though, despite being neat, these are useless until they have a non-external power source. Unless they maybe give some amazing FOV and Image Quality/Dynamic Range…but given the constraints of fitting on your damn eye i find this doubtful.

I know it's different for everyone, but that's not usually something I'd be particularly careful about receipts beyond the first month or so ; when they usually live in a pile on the kitchen table (single guy).
