I use an Onyx Boox android e-reader. Stays charged for days, looks like paper so you get that typewriter feel, and really can’t handle any non text-based apps, so no distractions.

It's so weird how often people don't seem to understand that concept on these kinds of builds.

Isn’t this just a typewriter with a screen? Like those early 90s word processors?

For the low low price of $400 and your sanity you too can turn yourself into Edward Keyboard Hands

That’s part of engineering you either have a problem and design a solution or you have a solution and look for what problem it might solve. Will this solve any problem maybe not but could the tech used here find use elsewhere maybe. New advancements no matter how silly could be awesome later on.

A guy I used to work with had a split keyboard and he attached each half to the outsides of his chair so he could type with his arms at his sides. Needless to say this lasted for just a couple weeks.

Well that different hardware was a real problem during the pandemic. Dell wasn't able to pack the latitude drivers for all the hardware the build in and shipped out.

Just staying at your desk seems a much better (and cheaper) method of staying productive.

But the trips away from the desk are purposeful mini vacations. No thanks!

Been seeing this thing a lot recently... it looks horrible to use and has a ~$400 price tag. Hard pass. An actual controller and keyboard seems better and frankly more transportable.

I bought the reMarkable 2, and I absolutely love it.
I know next to nothing about the original reMarkable, but the 2 has cloud support, and it is so nice having all of my notes on my phone and computer, and I am able to adjust notes while on my phone/computer.
That, plus being able to just drag and drop books into the reMarkable app has redefined how much I read

I wander the office with express purpose of not being productive.
