I have seen so many fake Samsung SSDs, buds, Apple AirPod Pros, iPhones and whatever else is up for sale that i treat every item as fake unless it passes basic verification tests.

The first test is the source. The second is the basic verification steps like serial number check etc. The final test is the attention to detail with the packaging and manufacturing.

A product must pass these tests before i buy.

Sorry if i look like a human with trust issues. I have lived in a country where china dumps its fakeries all my life.

Apple still hasn't re-shipped their matter implementation. Until that happens, nobody can say whether it's a good idea. Presumably, Belkin has more insight into that disaster than we do. So I'm worried they have a better reason than "we don't want our devices to become generic."

The point is to deliver only when you are home so there won't be any packages left out for porch pirates. Mark Rober's recent video on this explained a lot and answers most questions in this thread.

> Does the Grab Shell look like the most ergonomic way to type? No, and we imagine there’s going to be a bit of a learning curve to mastering touch typing on it—especially for hunt and peck typists. It also weighs in at around 950 grams, so it’s got a bit of heft to it, potentially making hours long coding sessions in bed a challenge unless users beef up their arm muscles.

Nope!

i see it lowered via a dumb waiter directly into the house. after you get the delivery notification and hear the "package doorbell", you go around the corner from the kitchen and take it from the receivables hatch

I have a shield pro it’s a bona fide piece of shit. I originally bought it when cheap Amazon streaming boxes with slightly better than raspberry pi specs were the norm, I wanted a streaming device with a little more processing power that would stand the test of time and not be as laggy and temperamental as what was currently on the market. Enter Nvidia shield a $300CAD (should have been a down payment on a new console) that gets you this sleek awkward angled streaming device that gets laggier than an iPhone 6 after updates.

I unplug my Nvidia Shield more often than my toaster because it freezes up so much. It pales in comparison to the onboard “Smart” component of my new LG tv.

If you need a streaming device just get a fire stick and just don’t say anything important or controversial in the TV’s room again. 👂
