Tbh the reason I have an iPhone now is because if it’s gonna cost iphone money I mine as well just get an iPhone. Atleast with the iPhone you are paying to have a product that will get day 1 software updates and support for more years than most people keep a phone, all these other companies are charging a grand for a phone and you maybe get day 1 updates the first year, 3 months late the 2nd year, if they do a 3rd year you get 8 months later and after that you probably are just fucked. Even the companies that do support their products longer term you end up getting the next version of their respective is months after it’s release.

Are any of these good with true heart rate? I use the fenix 6, coming from the 5. On some bike rides I’d be going up a hill and my heart is beating out of my chest and it says my hr is 85 (that was on the 5). Same thing with playing hockey, will come off a shift absolutely exhausted, hr 90. Is there something with maybe sweat that’s not giving an accurate reading? I was hoping the 6 would have been improved, but same issues

ITT: People that forget that it took Apple 20 years to get back to launching hit products. Most of their life they’ve tested niche products at high prices before pursuing mass market. The frequently launched products too early for the market and abandoned them.

Even if these fail, I’m happy to see apple taking some risk instead of just printing money with incremental improvements to watches, phones, and iPads for the last decade. They can afford a miss but the upside is huge if they get it right in 2-3 generations.

If you think these are too expensive, you’re not the target audience.
