It’s a nose. It can also detect when someone in a 3 mile radius rips ass

I’m legit impressed with this idea though. we’re so focused on creating new technologies we don’t even find uses for what we already got!

Shhh, you just setup a seat with a hole in it at the top.
Gravity will take care of the rest

Yeah same I have 2, the MSI suprim liquid and the gigabyte OC gaming. No issues with either and love the 4K FPS and VR experience. Couldn’t imagine going with anything slower at this point. I even have the gigabyte card inside a meshroom S case with no issues.

This feels like a waste. Even if you put them in national parks and things, how many fires are started outside these places if not by humans then naturally?

I am the only one in California that gets the feeling that the authorities in California aren’t actually that interested in preventing forest fires. I mean we’re in like the top five biggest economies. Probably the largest tech economy. We have some of the oldest forest and the largest trees on earth yet we can’t seem to allocate enough assets and tech to stop these fires. Many of which are started by the electrical companies that are basically controlled by the government.

Man I wish fire watcher was still a thing you could do. I would love that job, don’t even have to pay me that much, just enough to live a regular simple live in the off season.

All jokes aside, these sensors would be far quicker and more accurate at detecting fires that a human in a fire lookout. Especially if that person had to climb all the way down for a toilet break at the wrong time.

I guess there's no strict definition for what qualifies as 'consumer level', but I'd argue that what is basically 219" of commercial signage in somebody's living room doesn't count lmao

I’m reminded of my year or so of running KnC Miner Neptunes back around 2015. Similarly designed to run too close to the design specification for a 4-pin peripheral plug and socket, they caused several fires, or destroyed the miner or the PSU by melted connectors.
Even running relatively high end Corsair AX1200 supplies didn’t guarantee me a stable run, and at least one set of cables was destroyed that year.
I don’t ever want to run it like that again - the 4090 likely won’t be for me, even if it fits my case.

Same experience here on a 4090 Strix. Works fine, does VR like a champ (my use-case) and fits my Obsidian 7000D well. My main complaint will be that it isn't an EVGA card.

Seriously, I mean I guess I shouldn’t be surprised at the downvotes. It doesn’t impact my 4090FE though haha.
