Just don't let it happen again.
Whatever it is.

i hate these games. boring cover shooting mechanics with such ridiculous hordes of enemies every fight feel very dragged out, big spectacle set piece moments which are impressive but you barely have any control over and terribly boring climbing scenes where you just slowly climb and can't fail

Dont do it. I have a Ryzen 9 5900x and Rtx 2080 super and that's running games a lot better than the PS5 even with a gpu from 2018.

Played it cuz it was free and it's one of like 2 games I've gotten near 100%, it's a complete blast on Infamous, and I've never bothered to get the walk away ending because the final driving mission is one of, if not my favorite mission in any game
It definitely helped that I was utterly infatuated with the story since I did the bosses in the best possible order for story imo on my first run (faith, jacob, john from start to end)

The first game is a notoriously average. The series doesn't really hit its stride until the 2nd. It's my personal favorite, but people like 3 and 4 a lot too.

Congrats on the release! Had this on my wishlist for a while. How big is your group, and how many iterations of your core gameplay did you go through before landing on your final game?

Usually Minecraft, Scrap Mechanic, Stardew Valley, Terraria. Basically any sandbox game that limits you on a 90° grid Sometime Arcade racers like: Split/Second:Velocity and Burnout: Paradise

Mechanically, like all Naughty Dog games, they're just kinda... eh?
Some of the better writing in games, but Naughty Dog hasn't made a good game, gameplay wise, since Crash.

Farming Simulator, it really hit me. Spotify offers me some of the best country songs and I just relax and harvest my crops and feed my pigs.

honestly, the cacodemons from doom used to give me nightmares. The OG cacodemons with those big toothy grins. The ones from the newer doom games are much less intimidating
Probably not the best game for an 8 year old

MS flight sim, no HUD, somewhere exotic and sun setting through clouds, Spotify Hans Zimmer on.

Super NES, for a lot of the same reasons that you mentioned, just bumped back a generation. All my friends had the NES growing up, and when my parents finally relented and bought me a "Nintendo", the Super NES had just come out and it was amazing. So many colors! 96 levels in Super Mario World! The possibilities! It's still my favorite to this day, although the PS2 is really high up the list, too.

No. There's a lot more variety in games on PC.
