i have clocked over 1k hours in both WoW and Swtor (but stopped before 7.0, ie the current expansion)
when it comes to mmorpgs, it's all about what you want/expect. are you looking for a full-fledged mmo experience, and if so can you commit the time for group content to upgrade your gear, optimize your build and learn the rotations? if yes, then swtor - in fact, any of the mainstream mmos - will serve you well. although I'd personally go with a more active title, such as Final Fantasy or WoW. Swtor has been on decline for many years now.
are you really just looking for a free 2 play star wars sandbox game that, according to internet, has “great stories”? the class stories really aren't anything special. but by all means go ahead because it is indeed free... kinda.

It is human nature. People are competitive and they trash talk for a lot of reasons.
- To get into your head, you play worse, make more mistakes. They win.
- It makes them feel good (and makes you feel bad). See #1.
- It is fun (for some people). And entertaining for others.
- It is part of our culture (I'm assuming you are American.) Just listen to any sports team, basketball players are the worst (in my opinion) followed closely by football players. I recently was at a female soccer game, and I could not believe the things these young ladies were saying to each other (made me laugh by the way.)
But if it really bothers you, don't play those games. There are also a lot of single player games (I kind of lean that way). But there is nothing like fragging some nube, and rubbing his/her face in it with a sharp, witty barb.
It's always been that way and it always will be that way, probably.

This has existed for many centuries.
Gaming is just another thing that is part of it.

Yeah, when it comes to mobile games, I finally decided I would only play pay once and play games. I find anything that has any kind of micro transactions are built around just getting you to spend money. And I’m not spending money.
Nice thing is, there are lots of really good pay once and play games out there. They just take a little hunting.

If you're looking for a good jumping in point, Origins definitely works. Black Flag is good too since the present day story had gone off the rails by then so you don't really have to pay attention to it.

Swtor is basically a single player game. You'll like it. It's standard bioware rpg good times.

that's kind of an odd explanation, games like dead space and resident evil rely on a scarce recources to create that, but there are other survival horror games that rely on more, sneaking for instance.
Alien isolation is classed exactly like that

I know this is irrelevant but if MMOs are too intimidating, KNIGHTS of the Old Republic is the best game of all time. It’s single player and could probably run on any device you own.
