There is literally zero grinding required while you play the story. There are more than enough class and planetary arc quests to keep you constantly overleveled. And that's before the multitude of other quests on your path, group content, PvP, etc.

And the game is so easy that you can beat it without ever changing your starting gear. Only time you need to learn to play is if you go into endgame content.

The last thing you want, is release a game when people go “what game was that? Never heard of it? Did anyone know it was released?”

While Hi-Fi Rush managed it, you cannot guarantee it will for other games. When you invest so much into a AAA game, the last thing you want is marketing to fail you.

Marketing works, while many people criticise the game etc, it doesn’t matter as long as it achieve its sales target.

Stealth release, many people may not know of it, while you get less criticism, it is meaningless if sales target not reached.

Anonymity and ego.

What I've learnt though is it's usually middle of the pack gamers that talk shit and that's exactly why they're there, they don't improve because they shift the blame off to everyone else.

What features of "getting ahead"? The store offers 99% cosmetics.

Some QoL things can be bought for free players, like extra quickbars or endgame gear authorizations (not the gear itself). But they are only needed if a player wants to dive seriously in the raider/PvP multiplayer part (and are all available automatically for subscribers). So at that point a player should just subscribe.

I would like to add that gamers should stop to pretend that a game is either perfect in every way imaginable or its trash entirely. I saw a lot of rants about modern games being trash with an old far cry game being the example for the best game imaginable while the later ones are just dogwater and the franchise should just die already. Honestly, what is wrong with this kind of gamers, i really enjoyed Far Cry 6 and those guys be like: "Trash, don´t play that game". same thing goes for assassins creed, i am currently playing valhalla and i like it, its a fine game. Sure there are always things that are not 100% but a game is not trash if thats the case.

I find the Assassins Creed games just feel lonely as is. Just my personal opinion. I don't know what types of games you are into but maybe try a heavily story driven game. Sometimes you can get lost in the plot to where it feels closer to a movie as in you feel more "In" the game rather than playing it. Not sure though, I do find online less lonely as you are *literally* playing with/communicating with real people.
