Recensy bias, but Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair would probably be my pick. I recently finished it and it totally blew me away. Storywise it is one of the best games I could ever imagine being created. I mean, the cleverness, the twists!!! I’m just in awe and total fascination over how god damn good that game was. Even getting nostalgic already over some of its moments.

If I could experience it again without knowing the twists and overall story…that would be a truly special experience. Now, even when I do know the twists and story, I’ll still replay it and enjoy doing so incredibly much. I’m so genuinly impressed by how good of a game it was.

Being better than the first Danganronpa (Trigger Happy Havoc) was a high ladder to climb, but it managed to do that. I can’t recommend the Danganronpa series enough. Those games are among the best that exist.

Even now, I’ve moved on to the spinoff game (Ultra Despair Girls) which so far I really like.

I think Hellogames is much worse as it is

Still shows fancy pancy trailers of their 'new content', but what you get in game is some half assed shallow bullshit, most of it completely useless too.

Bethesda.. showing a gameplay trailer starfield which runs on 15 fps lol bet that game will release ass as well.

EA actually listened to their fanbase when they cried about unlocking hero's in battlefront 2, so who's worse?

hellogames by miles.

Bioshock is absolutely a horror game. The residents of Rapture are meant to be scary... the noises and feeling of dread, the environment / sounds invoke are strong horror vibes.

It's just not as scary as it would have been b/c of the plethora of abilities afforded your character to deal with the denizens of Rapture.

Restrict the player to what they can carry at any given time and give them less resources and you'd have a Survival Horror game.

But as it stands I'd say it lands closer to Action Horror.

Probably not what your looking for, but I've had a lot of fun with Factorio.

Probably even less of what you want, but Zachtronics makes a lot of cool 'engineering' games. Even a game that preceded Minecraft.

This comes from that not everyone is fully analyzing what theyre doing all the time. Sometimes they like game and want to like it together with others.

What youre deacribing OP is a more objective and logical way of looking at it, which is the ying to the yang that is just enjoying something and having good feelings. The latter of which isnt allowed on the internet anymore since we got fake intellectualism forced on us by political extremists on the internet.

Ive even seen people who think to notice i dont understand something about a game and feel the need to "correct" me on it, like the bad guy's intentions, or what a system is used for. These people disturb me in having my own experience with a game because they think their views are more important than me enjoying entertainment like i want to.

Nay the real problen here is that people like OP are afraid that these uninformed opinions will make their videogames worse, and casual. We've had very vocal opinions about casualization the last 10 years, but still many games come out that make the mistake of dismissing the experienced gamer, and focusing on the casuals. So it doesnt matter.

Chill out. Pamper the inexperienced gamers. Ask them what they like and dont like. Let them form their own opinion. Share their enthusiasm. In a way they are our little brothers and sisters. We should cherish them and their pure heartedness.
