I remember an early dungeon crawler, I think it was Dungeon Siege, where you had a donkey following you around you piled all that stuff on to.

There is no point being made. There's no reason they can't sell games on PC and on their console, like every other company does. It makes no sense not to, they'd make millions more.

in fact consoles are even sold at a loss, specifically because they expect to make more off of individual game sales. So to have someone else emulate the console for free, and even act as a platform they could sell their games on without porting it over to PC would be nothing but beneficial to them.

You're basically trying to defend someone that goes "I have an infinite supply of icing that anyone can take from for free. I can give everybody the option of buying it if I want. But I'll only sell it to people that buy it with my cake mix. Everyone else gets it free."

like why? What's the purpose? You aren't preventing piracy, and you're losing money in the process. How does this help you?

It's the nature of technology. It moves ever onward.

It's not an issue that people want to game on an older version of Windows but we do expect Steam to be updated and updating it requires stuff that doesn't work in those versions of Windows.

If Valve wants to make a version of Steam for each OS that their main branch doesn't support, that's mostly a matter that's up to them. I'm not gonna say they shouldn't do it, but neither am I invested enough in old operating systems to care much about trying to get them to do it.

gen 3 synths are the only humanoid ones. so bethesda specifically chose to give this special group of npcs radiation immunity.

nick also states, if you take him to the glowing sea, that radiation isnt much of a problem for him, due to him being a synth. nick is also one of 2 prototypes for gen 3 synths. (DiMa being the other), so presumably, especially with gen 3 synths having the immunity, it does ally to them.

Maxon was their ward he took over after both them died, completed Sarah’s goal of elimination the super mutants while reinterpreting the Outcast to the BoS. He also is not nearly as radical as the hardliner BoS originals or as naive as the elder Elder Lyon (not a typo)

Personally im a bit mixed about this. Loosing support for things like old hardware is bad. Still windows 7 support is dropped my Microsoft it's self. Together with 8.1 on 2020.

Microsoft is offering free upgrades to windows 10 and now windows 11. (Wondering how bad it's going to be when they cut win10 support)

So if you have an retro gaming pc it's sould be better be offline. So as the games etc.

It's probably costing the company money. And in the decline we are in they probably cut cost. Probably a few dusty servers and some space may even a full building they pay rent for.

You realize you can run Win 7, 8 (and earlier) in a VM with little to no issues when gaming right? You can even run DOS games with fully emulated hardware, drivers, displays... basically everything. Steam "cutting off support" doesn't mean you can't play your games anymore, just run an offline client.

It is an issue that you don't own an actual copy of your game though. We definitely need reform in that area for games.
