I’m guessing the kinds of people who say “I’d spend SO much money on X game!” Are the type of people who enjoy spending money on microtransactions.

I’d spend like $20 on buying a new pod racing game, but i have no desire to spend thousands of $ pimping my pod with gold drip lol. But some people like that kinda thing. But I don’t think anyone likes p2w lol, at least I haven’t seen anyone say that ever.

"Rinse repeat almost a dozen times"... Yeeeeah, that's more because there's a lot of unworthy, shitty games these days. Many who have great marketing, trailer or screenshots and make you think you're gonna get something great, but then hands on you're like holy shit... and then uninstall. So to me, that's not a problem with Steam. Devs need to make good products that both hold up under scrutiny and actually deliver on their promises.

E3 needs to rebrand from its current media targeted, behind-closed-doors, AAA publisher advertising event, to a gamer targeted indie dev event, with a focus on demo booths and merch.

It is absolutely worth it and changed the way I game.

Honestly I didn’t even think I “needed” one until I started traveling a lot. Once I got one though I realized just how awesome it is.

I feel completely untethered from my desk which has allowed me to spend more time in other areas of my house rather than being stuck in my gaming room.

The ability to stream games from your desktop is also huge.

I can basically play any game at high end pc levels of graphics on my deck from anywhere in the home.

Plus the system itself is pretty damn powerful even without utilizing your home system. It can natively run games like divinity original sin 2, the Witcher 3, and cyberpunk all on high graphics settings with zero issue. I even played cp2077 on ULTRA with this thing and it still ran fine.

Some games also just play better on a handheld. King games of civ5 for example are way better on the steam deck where you c an pick it up from anywhere.

Just my opinion but yes. For me it has changed my gaming habits.

Reply to comment by HolokaustT in Nintendo low budget? by HolokaustT

Thank you for showing us why Nintendo doesn't have to match the budget of Sony and Microsoft. Because customers (you) still buy them regardless.

So, again, why would they match the budget of the others if their products keep selling?
