Get over yourself. Cdpr delayed all single player content and cancelled the planned multiplayer and went on an apology social media tour for what then? If not the 1+ years worth of bug fixing?

Circle jerk? Honey my opinion comes from first hand experience playing this game during and after launch.

Im not gatekeeping anyone from enjoying it. But saying it had no bugs or you experienced very few is total nonsense. Just be honest and say you can look past them because you enjoyed it so much.

Either that or you simply did not play it at launch.

Missed the Saturn and Dreamcast. They were way ahead of their time and they got swallowed up by playstation. It's too bad because I would have liked to see where they would have taken the consoles. Now we only have 3 to choose from. Competition is good, Sega had some good creative games. Just look at the state of gaming now? The standard has become games being in constant state of beta, pay to win, loot boxes, unfinished sold at full price. Publishers abandoning games, closing successful studios. Honestly I miss the early 90s and early 2000s gaming.

I've been getting back into PC Games now that my kids are older and I don't have to watch them all the time to make sure they don't hurt themselves. It has been both nostalgic to see how somethings have not changed and inspiring to see how other aspects like graphics are 8x better than they were just a few years ago.

(Note: I started a youtube channel during those little kid years and became well known for mobile games so it has been strange to "branch out" to the main system I used to play on. For those interested, here is my most recent video on PC games: https://youtu.be/pOd3DfXUY8E

Assuming it happens eventually where the AI can generate its own assets, NPCs, etc. and the story lines are actually internally consistent, sure. The concern I have with an AI-generated game being released now is that even with the current technology, story telling via AI does have some limitations. To my knowledge, AI Dungeon itself still does require some babying to get it to do what you want it to since it only remembers the most recent parts of the story being generated; you have to update its memory bank with new information periodically, otherwise the AI produces weird results, gets caught in loops, etc.

I had no prior experience with the Atelier series, but I bought Ryza 1 on sale a year or so ago. I didn't finish it, but I easily got 20 hours of enjoyment out of it.

It's a light story just to keep things moving along. The meat is exploration and gathering to make cool items. Combat is a pretty standard issue turn based JRPG experience, but it provides one of the avenues to use items you might make - like bombs and such. It's a low stakes genuinely fun expression of the traits above. I'd recommend it to people who like those things.

It's super "anime", which isn't a knock, just something to be aware of if you like or dislike that style.

Be warned it's delisted pretty much everywhere so the only way to play it now is to pirate it. If you manage to get it running you're in for a treat. It's a game where your character is an artic explorer who falls into a hole made by a ship that crashed and froze into the ice. So the entire game is you exploring this cold ship frozen in time (literally). it's one of the most unique horror experiences i've ever played by far, especially the healing mechanic where you have to either light or find small fires on the ship to warm yourself up otherwise your health is always gonna be a quarter full

Right? It's weird, I feel like every time I watch TGA he says all the typical "games are a respected medium" all that stuff, but then at the same time the way he sets the awards up the games take a backseat to sponsors, ads and concerts-- makes it feel like a hollow sentiment every time lol

I never heard of the term Wallet Warrior before until now but looking at the comments I get the general gist.

I'm in a similar boat, I'll only pay for extra microtransactions in a game that I genuinely enjoy and want to support the developer. Like Rocket League for example.

If the game has P2W mechanics or is just simply unfun, then no, I won't pay an additional amount on top of both the initial asking price and the time I've already put into the product.
