stick welding beads tend to look like that whether or not you put some whipping motion into it. Although those dimes are definitely pronounced

You will not get stacks of dimes with a drag rod not using any movement.

after looking at the animation again, I'd say it almost looks more like a TIG or pulsed MIG bead😂 this is what the bead should look like for those who are curious
