For me at least it's the opposite. The less I listen the more down I feel.

Got the same deal! Absolute STEAL.
Right now an S.M.S.L. SH-9, but they definitely need more power. Looking at the SP400 as it delivers an obscene amount of power. 12W at 16 Ohm versus 6 on the SH-9.
They still sound really good on the SH-9 though.

If you want to stick with Sennheiser, 800S, or 8XX sticker mod. Otherwise, look into a used Hifiman Susvara with an amp with decent power. If on a budget there are many headphone options, including iems. If you want accuracy, go for the best imaging and layering possible in your budget. You can find plenty of posts and videos about that and decide.

Speaking for myself, listening to music helped me get through times when I was sad and depressed.

We don't listen to music we just go shopping for headphones.
If you want to find people that actually listen to music probably go to a musician subreddit. Did the Venn diagram of musicians and headphone enthusiast barely intersects for some reason.
Those that can't do, buy expensive headphones ;)

ZMF lambskin pads didn't add bass but made the sound more impactful for me. sounds the same only more tactile and less smooth.
