You‘re right. It’s always like that with my IEM purchases ;) At first I think „that’s not a big difference“ and when I listen to them for a while and then come back to other IEMs I realize what I‘m missing. The 6XX have amazing vocals btw, the detail and realism there is incredible

Agreed! Aside from songs with an emphasis on sub bass, everything sounds just as it should in the sense that nothing sonically sticks out or lacks in the frequency spectrum on these cans. I have the DCA Expanse as my main HP and offloaded a couple of cans that consequently got completely supplanted, but I won’t part with my HD 600.

I like the medium setting, and for me it stays in that position. People often complaints it doesn't but for me it does. :D Sometimes I have it on light, then I can wear it all day long and never have a single amount of discomfort. But I prefer the sound when it's either firm or middle. :D Merry christmas!

You listen to a headphone instead of looking at it.

820 gets all those criticisms because it massively diverges from 800 and 800S. It dives deep but basically sacrifices any other advantages that 800/800S have.

>Seems like people read ASR and think they’re automatically a genius that sees through the hifi BS, but if you actually just listen to the damn thing you’ll realize what a fool you are.

If that is an honest question, it is because this is assuming that I just read some ASR then think I am a genius when I am really a fool because I cannot hear what they hear despite not being able to show any counter evidence from what I showed as evidence that what they were saying was incorrect.

Also they are calling me a fool for not agreeing with them.

Derogatory is to take a disrespectful attitude, to disparage. It can also mean to try to detract from the standing of someone. Calling someone a fool for not agreeing with baseless claims is derogatory in both senses.

I reiterate, I am not saying these people aren't hearing what they think they are, I'm saying what they are hearing is not caused by what they are claiming and it is a different part of the processing chain. To prove otherwise, it needs to be properly tested. I have linked a video multiple times where one of the most expert persons discusses this very topic and why it is so important to make sure things are tested properly.

Monks are okay. And cheap. I tried many other cheap chi-fi earbuds, I found Monks to be the best. Then I tried their expensive Zen model, and I actually still preferred Monks. But I gotta say. I don't really use earbuds, unless I'm in a train or bus. For potable use I use Porta pro. The sound is not even comparable, it's so much better. It can be folded together so you can have it in your pocket, just as you can with a set of earbuds.

Here's a good list 👇

https://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/best/wireless-bluetooth-earbuds-in-ear-headphones

I would add the Anker Liberty 3 Pro to the list they usually sell for $200.00 you can get them for $130.00 on sale right now on Amazon.... That's a sweet deal. Version 4 is out but l have no idea what they sound like.

The Anker Life Dot usually sells $80.00 now there on sale for $40.00 they sound fan freaking tastic...come with LDAC codec and nealy 100 hour charge

EDiT: I would also recommend jetAudio+ with these plugins the AM3D Audio Enhancer, Bongiovi DSP and the Crystalizer ... That's a game changer for your smart phone

I got myself a pair of Sennheiser IE 300 earlier this year combined with a Fiio KA3 driving them from my iPhone and AM. It is extremely good sounding and hands down the best IEM I have ever had.

Only problem is you can never go back

The switch controls the angle of the drivers relative to the pads on the headband, that's it.

Take them off your head and experiment with the switch. You'll notice that you can only set it to "firm" by pushing the drivers inward. They automatically click, and stay angled inward.

Then you can set the switch to middle or "light" which lets the drivers swing outward again.

If budget is an issue then the answer changes, here's a year-old list https://crinacle.com/rankings/iems/

I also submit Truthear Zero for $50ish, Celest Gumiho for the samish price if you don't have big earholes, and Letshuoer S12 Pro if you want something really good. There's Salnotes Zero in the $20 range and it's got a really good reputation but personally I don't think it can do treble.

None of these are literally earbuds, they're IEMs to split hairs
