Remember to use equalizer APO with Oratory1990's preset, they sound great with it but quite cheap without.

Yeah this bugged the hell out of me with with virtual surround sound so if you use it just leave it 16 bit 48000hz because it will always default back to it not good if your paying for premium audio streaming services and got a fancy amp and headphones and you won't to make use of those high bit rates and wider frequency range but in general for gaming movie surround 16bit 48000hz

I was able to drive the 560s off my 2020 iMac with no issues. I did use the on board 3.5mm jack as well as a Elgato Wave 3. The Wave 3 pumped out at least 20% more loudness at the same listening level. I just purchase and set up a Fiio K5 Pro ESS. There is a subtle but a very distinct difference in the listening experience at the same loudness level as the Wave 3 or iMac. I wouldn’t have purchased the FIIO K5 solely for loudness. I also have significantly more power to drive the headphones at louder levels as needed and the K5 can deliver high quality lossless. I am really enjoying the difference between stranded audio files and high quality lossless. There’s something really great about hearing the difference between drum stick strikes on the high hat.

Yeah, I like the Arias, too. I have the Qudelix 5K, but honestly I just run the Arias with the Apple Dongle.

This is a nice summary of the stages people go through when diving into measurments and why frequency response ends up being the main thing used

yeah i know, on the THX (from my headset) the max quality is 16 bit 48000
Jay-Kay-Creep t1_j1zv7u9 wrote
If you use dolby atmos or most any virtual surround it will change back to 16bit 48000hz anyways

Cos all IEMs that are tuned well can be used for gaming... Please don't being the "Gaming Headphones" mindset towards IEMs... Leave the precious little devices alone

truth to be told, stereo is 99% of the battle when it comes to audio. imaging and soundstage play an extremely low role in gaming performance. if you take the best CSGO team in the world and gave one team a bunch of HD800S and an exact clone of that team a bunch of $10 stereo sony earbuds that you can buy from walmart, i would expect the hd800s team to have maybe 50.5% chance of winning.

I discovered I was treble sensitive when I put the analytic pads on the 1990, but I used the balanced pads for years without treble bothering me at all. Maybe just me, but those pads make a huge difference.
I do think the HD600 are a better value option, especially for music listening. For gaming, the 1990 have wider staging and I think are better. But the HD600 are also perfectly useable. Another thing is the 1990 is maybe a bit easier to drive; even though it’s high ohms, it’s still pretty high sensitivity. And one cable instead of two dangling from the ear cups.

no one talks about gaming iems because normal iems can do the same job without the marketing. even stock earphones from phones can be used for gaming.
add the fact that gaming headphones steal attention gaming iems get from customers of 'gaming' brands.

that's exactly my point, but still a lot of people talk about the hyperx cloud2 or the razer headsets which get a lot of credit for not giving us much. But this does not happen with the iem community.

I love these headphones. I use them for everything. I suggest listening to your favorite tracks. Critical listening is half the fun for me.

There are no gaming headphones either. Just marketing. We don't need that BS in the IEM space too.

With its use of metals, the build quality of the X9000 is a clear step above the SR-009 and SR-007. The build of the X9000 makes the others look like Fisher Price plastic toys.

I got the CCA CXS the same day and recommend it if you want a V-shaped IEM, I think it's good, and it's cheap too, and a good quality.

I'm confused -- you ask about a Bluetooth dac/amp. Do you want to make them wireless? I'd just get some Bluetooth headphones.
M50x can be driven by anything. If you plan to use them wired, so long as your source isn't terrible you don't need an amp. They won't benefit by having one.

Sounds like your amp should be more than enough to drive those cans. You’ll know if it’s not loud enough.

Hah, well it is normal flow in this hobby, I haven't owned any audio gear more than 6 months, maybe my Variations will break this record.
So what IEM are you using now, after selling Monarch? Or maybe looking for something to buy?
Also thanks for your input about LCD-XC, I decided that this would be my 'end game' closed back if I wanted one, but 670g of weight is indeed disappointing. I didn't feel at all my 410g Ananda on my head, this ear-shaped HiFimans are very comfortable with my head, 450g Elex was already heavy on my head, and then I understood that comfort for headphones are important.
Had you EQ your LCD-XC to Harman? How it compares with/without EQ to the Arya based purely on technical department (details, soundstage, imaging, separation) and who has better vocals/bass? As I have read, Arya are more technical than LCD-X, so it's closed version should lose even a bit more due to artificial soundstage due to closed back design?

There are several authorized retailers. Staxaudio.com is a storefront for Woo Audio. There's also Audio46, HeadAmp, and The Source AV.
